Quote: I absolutely addressed Rigel’s response. Multiple times. Rigels opinion was that I couldn’t compare danmachi to other similar LNs, not sure why. He never gave me a reason that I could make out.

His reason was that you are using blanket statement, multiple girls interested in MC=Harem. This is not a viable conclusion as it is relatively common for multiple character to have feelings for a MC and still end in a monogamous relationship.

I also pointed out that Harem LNs have a pretty simple formula: MC wants a harem + A bunch of girls like MC romantically + Fantasy setting = Harem.

The problem here is the broadness of the term harem in LNs. MCs never showing an interest in a harem sometimes end up with one or other times the do and don't. Even series just have the characters having feelings but end without a resolution or no relationships at all are counted as harem.

I asked Rigel to name me another LN that had all of these factors without a harem, but he didn’t respond before you deleted my insights.

Considering you added factors that don't exist in the story...

You say I haven’t given plausible evidence, well I say I’ve given plenty due to the simple harem formula.

Again, you are using abc logic, this is flawed at best considering the variations in what is or can be considered harem.

if you think my foreshadow claim is incorrect, you can look to other foreshadowing. Such as Bells grandfather pestering him about women and harems. Or the fact that there are about a dozen women who like bell romantically.

You are ignoring the various plot details that go the otherway. Such as Liaris Freese itself, Bell actual lack of interest in a harem, Ais's plotting in the series as the main girl, the slow build up to that end, and Bell viewing all other girls in a different capacity. If Oomori could write romance worth a damn he would have focused more on that, harem or otherwise. Building on those different types of relationships rather than everyone becoming slight variations of the same template.

Also I haven’t read the first couple of novels cause I went from s1 of anime to LN, but I had heard that bell stated he wanted a harem. Maybe it didn’t happen, But you also kinda destroyed Rigels position of bell x ais, because his main point was that Ais made bell for get about coming to Orario to get a harem.

This is quite clearly interpretive bias. By saying Bell was never interested in a harem to begin with and that he came to Orario to find the girl of his dreams supports Rigels positions. After the events involving the minotaur on the 6th floor he becomes interested only in Ais and Liaris Freese is strictly targeted to his feelings for her. Ais is also the only person the in 15 volumes Bell show any romantic interest in what so ever.

I would agree with you that this author is a bit weak when writing about romance, but that has nothing to do with the harem bit. He’s weak in a sense that he makes pussy characters that skate around love. I’ve actually talked about this rather extensively in another thread about vol 16. The author is quite clearly setting up a harem not because he’s bad at writing romance but because that’s the story he wanted to make.

This is your interpretation, not necessarily what the author intends, try and keep in mind they aren't the same thing. Bell is 14, do you really expect him to be a suave player and get with all the girls? Like most 14 year olds he can't even have a conversation with a girl he is attracted to without blushing and becoming embarrassed. He doesn't skate around love, he views himself as unworthy of loving that person.

Hestia would have to give up on bell. Haruhime would remain the disgraced prostitute who could never be with the hero. Ryuu wouldn’t be able be with the man that saved her. Syr would have to grow disinterested in bell. Lily would just be another prum forced into a political marriage.

The other girls would have to move on and find some other person to love them. Kind of a regular thing in real life.
Yes this is a valid argument for BellxHarem, but there is still plotting and narrative elements that suggest the other outcome as well. It is entirely possible for the author to decide to broaden the perspective possible relationships. Additionally Zeus was actually contradictory to the harem thing at times.

but please delete my post if it some how upsets your subjective opinion. You after all have to the power to do so, it wouldn’t be an abuse of power or nothing right?

Your positions aren't remotely subjective. I don't care which way the author chooses to go with his romance sub plot.
