<p>let's put it this way:in this scenario Bell is not asking them a favor to the freya famila ,he is sharing  with them an information about a plot of their enemy to destroy them;what they do with this information is out of his control. </p><p>Freya could even chose to leave the plan happen and see who is stronger,could want the power of the fox for her familia (even without the killing stone,is a plan to ugly to her)could leave her alone... </p><p>It's a risky plan where so much can go wrong,still it's better than "A level two and a level three charging the enemy base" </p>

Well saying Bell Cranel is Mary Sue is well a bit of a overstatement. He may seem to come off that way in the anime maybe I can argue he suffers from Kirito syndrome (From SAO the most notorious Gary Sue) however if that case I can argue say a shonen protagonist from another series like Luffy from One Piece is a Gary Stu of some sort (I know not the best example, but its all I can think of). </p>

<p>I like Bell but even I know he is a Mary Sue. I’m not gonna even deny it because Bell acts like the typical ideal protagonists that are always right,has one of the most powerful skills in the series so that he can always win against stronger guys,and become the strongest character one day. No matter what he does he never gets any lasting consequences or changes to his character even when there’s a good timing for it like V10. His “change” in V12 doesn’t really help this case either. I don’t hate this type of protagonist but calling him a Mary Sue is in no way a overstatement with all the things that have happened and especially in the Xenos arc. The fact that it was resolved without any real problems is way too convenient. </p>

<p>I wouldn't really consider Bell as a Gary Stu. The kid got his guts beat out and put together just because there is some magic or magic item in that world. I often see him as an underdog character, always got himself involved into some shitstorm that is more than he could take. But he got some thick plot armor though, and that ability is getting more OP as he grows. Still, it is hard for me to view his as a Gary Stu. </p><p>Plus, I think Asterius gived him a through beating, that doesn't sound very Gary Stu to me. </p>

<p>I'm the oposite of you. I can't see him as an underdog as everything that happen to him is optional. He can always choose to not do. But he choose to always do so and that event happen. Rather than underdog, he is too naive. He knows he isn't as powerful, but he keeps doing something so naive like that and thanks to plot armor he is safe. His growth still too little in my eyes. </p>

<p>Judging from what he has done up until now and how strong the enemies are, yes he should have learned it now. </p>
