<p>Like other users have pointed out, the Yen Press translation isn't necessarily correct. <p>Bell wanted to be on the same level as Ais because he loved her and realized he couldn't be her lover if he wasn't as strong as her. I'm not really sure why you think it doesn't come from love </p>

<p>The description for the skill comes from the end of volume status so Hestia blaming Ais is irrelevant, not to mention there's no one else that could've caused it to appear, and we repeatedly see Bell stating that he has feelings for Ais </p>

<p>Liaris Freese does appear because of Ais but technically it could work for anyone else. Bell isn't going to change his aspiration to someone else story wise though </p>

<p>Idk everywhere i look and find this ダンジョンに出会いを求めるのは間違っているだろうか (Danjon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka) Which translates into "is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon." Even in all the stories zues read him as a child he hint at harem. Just cause hes has strong feels and even love for aiz does not mean this story was ever meant to be anything but a harem adventure. Its prove time and time when he shows interest in all females. Hell he'd risk his life to save a female just cause she was a girl. He did it with Lili and Haruhime. Now a harem does not mean the main character wont end up with just one. Kirito has a harem but hes with asuna. Just sit back enjoy the ladies and story. Quit tryna rush to the end without getting any of the story. My opinion tho Bell and Aiz will end up together. </p>

<p>Except that he literally discarded the idea of a harem the moment he met and fell in love with Ais. Since then he has never shown interest or made a move in any other girl. And no, thinking that a girl is cute doesn’t mean he is interested in her. You can think a person is cute and don’t feel attracted to them. </p><p>And the kanji of his skill means singleminded/wholehearted aspiration which makes clear that he has eyes for Ais and only her. </p><p>Could that change? <p>We are not rushing to the end, it is just that DanMachi's ending is pretty obvious. </p>

<p>It's called the hero mentality, a hero saves everyone he can. Bell is 14, of course he'd get flustered by every last woman throwing themselves at him. <p>There are many girls that love Kirito but he only loves Asuna, that's not what a harem is </p><p>I'd rather the author rush to the end already instead of embarrassing himself with more poorly written "romance" </p>

<p>This is why I want this arc be the one where he finally grows some balls and tells Hestia, Lili and the others to back the fuck off from his personal life. </p><p>Because it is stupid of the author to have Bell at Level 3 have the balls to stand up to Level 6 Ais and tell her she's wrong about the Xenos. Fights her even landing a cut across the front of chest armor plate. </p><p>But doesn't have the backbone to tell his Supporter who is way weak and his Goddess to back off and accept his love for Ais. </p>

<p>It's one reason why Oomori should start putting in some character development into Bell where he adopts talking to girls and show some assertiveness. It's tiring seeing these shy harem MCs that don't grow out of that shell.  </p>

<p>Since he is not that great at romance. Maybe he has a friend who is great at romance. He could get him to help with Bell and Ais. </p><p>He seems to build up great Bell and Ais moments. For some reason he has to have Hestia ruin them. Like in Volume 5 and Volume 8. </p>
