The reason for saying that she won’t get a metal sword is because she needs something that amplifies her magic because that is how it is her fighting style. If she wanted a metal sword she would had gotten one before, it is the way she is used to fight so suddenly changing without a reason wouldn’t make sense as it has always worked for her to use that fight in style.

About her status, people say that there had passed five years but they have to remember that those were years in which she didn’t do something except training which doesn’t give excelia. There had been only two things she has done that could give her excelia and those were the fights against the Black Goliath and the Juggernaut.

And that has nothing to do with Liaris Freese. Liaris Freese is a skill that Bell developed because of falling in love with Ais not because of fighting so she wouldn’t get one like that. Also, what makes it special is that Bell’s feelings were so strong to make it appear so giving someone else a skill similar would make it lose it’s meaning and what makes it special. Also it would just be plot convenience for someone to get a skill like that and show that Oomori is desperately trying to make up for the problem of Bell’s friends falling behind him.

I said before she doesn't need something to increase her magic, her style is very versatile in that she can output both physical and magical dmg effectively...she is very much like Ais in that regard and Ais doesn't use anything to increase her magic dmg.

would a wooden sword that buffs her magic help her yes...does she NEED it, No...

you said they get no excelia from training, well true I guess but yet training still ups their stats and develops their fighting technique (Remember Bell upped his stats by training and Ais upped her stats by training with Ottar, Argana and Bache are both lvl 6 but they don't fight monsters that high...they train fighting each other) And if she has maintained a consistent training regiment for the 5 years the the results can be quite a big increase...

I think you're also mistaken on how growth works, it doesn't only come from killing monsters but everything they do effects them... And Ryu has done a lot more than those 2 things since the start of the season let alone the last 5 years.Your forgetting that since her last update she hunted those responsible for the death of her familia and killed them, she's made multiple trips down to the 17th floor to visit her friends' graves no doubt killing many monsters to get there she also made a trip to go rescue Bell killing many along the way. She fought in the war game, had a duel with Ais, fought Chloe and Lunoire, fought monster Filvis, killed a bunch of monsters on lvl 4 besides the Juggernaut all the while surviving a near death experience and more so ya I would say her stats are going to skyrocket when she updates her status.

And what I meant as far as a skill that would rival Liaris Freese is that it's potential would rival it, not that it work the same way nor do the same thing. I don't think it will be anything close to it at all. I'm merely stating that she has been through a lot so her getting a powerful skill or magic ability is warranted and wouldn't seem like mere plot convenience.
