First off, in DM 3 Ais isn't saying wait to Bell, nor is the narrative. The narrative is that there is something she is dreaming about that causes her to yell "wait-just..." While there is some symbolism in the scene, this isn't what you are proposing. It is showing there is something more going on with the girl than Bell realizes. In reality she is telling her parents to wait for her in a nightmare.

As for DanMemo, Oomori has little to no control over it. He occasionally writes events for it but nothing more. It has never been in question that Bell will save Ais at some point and become her hero. No one should have need the event to figure that out. The problem with using this as the absolute for BellxAis, is that every single girl interested in Bell gets saved by him and becomes their hero as well.

The relationship chemistry claims are yet another problem. People claim such and such characters have the best or only chemistry is to heavily influenced by interpretive bais to be a valid claim by the vast majority of shippers. It is easy for someone to explain it for particular characters and then have someone else claim they are wrong and it exist somewhere else.

The reality is that Oomori struggles with writing relationships and with plotting. He is good at writing compelling scenes but often fails to weave them neatly in to the narrative and follow up with meaningful interaction. This is largely why once a character fail for Bell they all have similar inability to act meaningfully towards that end. To say Oomori knows what he is doing is wishful thinking at best and ignoring huge portions of the narrative at worst. If he knew what he was doing Hestia, Lili, Eina, Syr, and even Haruhime and Ryuu to a lesser extent wouldn't feel like they all are essentailly act the same or very similar. Resorting to blocking other girls, saying idiotic lines, and hurting Bell is not good writing. Ryuu and Haruhime have less time in the narrative to have been in that position but so far hasn't been encouraging.

Given that every girl continues to be developed as a romantic interest amd the existing plotting, there are two ends to the romance plot on the table. That would BellxAis and BellxHarem.

I have to agree with Kevhunt here that frankly speaking, Oomori is bad at writing romance. He could write great stories on "white knight saving damsel in distress" trope but that's it, he can't follow up the romance aspect of the plot since he is too caught up to expand Danmachi lore and backstory. At this point, I am not suprised to see an open ending where Bell ends up with no one. At least I'd prefer it that way compared to poorly written harem like Arifureta series.
