It was never said that being close to a Spirit increases the power boost that they can give. <p>There’s nothing that suggest that Albert’s contract with Aria would had been enough to have the level of power he had. It’s clear that there’s something else we don’t know and won’t until Oomori decides to show it. </p> </div> <p>I'm no sure general Minos is your average level two minotaurus,he defeated and consumed alone so many monsters (and we are talking about monsters before the dungeon's lid,so powerfull as the ones in the dungeon) and if i remember well, he even devoured them,magic stone included,i don't know if he was strong as Asterius,but he was pretty strong the same. </p><p>I think Spirit compared to Falnas had different shortcomings then the simply pure power: they were fews,they coul give power to only one person at a time,if abused they damaged the very users,they could be corroupted. </p><p>With the Falna system instead of giving a lot of power at once to a single hero, you give power little by little<span class="tlid-trans-verified-button trans-verified-button" style=""></span> to a lot of people making  in a few years  some of them strong as a spirit user and even more. </p><p>

<p>While consuming magic stones increase the power of a monster it doesn’t mean it would always allow hem to raise their level. Lyd was three levels above the usual level of Lizardmen despite living for over a decade and also training and fighting in quests given by Fels to deal with powerful Irregulars. All of that combined should had raised his level even more than it actually was since he consumed magic stones over that period of time. </p><p>Also, it wouldn’t be the same to eat a magic stone from another Level 2 monster than from a Level 1, the later one giving clearly a smaller boost. <p>All what you are saying is a big assumption. It was never said that there were few Spirits, neither that it gave a bigger boost than falna nor that it had a side effect because of the power they granted. Without something backing it up what you say is not believable. </p><p>Also, people was said to be killed more often before Gods came down from Heaven which means that they were not as strong as people with falna and were weaker than them. This shows that spirit contracts didn’t give a bigger power boost and gave a small one compared to falna. </p>

<p>Making General Minos at least a level 5 just breaks the power scaling. Why bother working on your falna when you can just find a Spirit and contract to get an instant boost?. <p>There were plenty of Spirits back then, they were sent out by the Gods to help the heroes of old. The amount of people that received the blessing wouldn't matter since there'd be enough, and even if there weren't Ais seems to imply that it can affect multiple people since she says "she's (Alfia) as strong as my father and the others" </p><p>Why would the heroes abuse their power sources? They'd be incredibly stupid to do so. Also, their corruption comes from being killed and eaten by monsters but also retaining their sense of self </p><p>Let's say that Albert and his allies had a falna. There's still no guarantee that they'd ever get to level 7 or so much less survive until then. The monsters were the originals back then so they'd be pretty strong, even with a Spirit it would be pretty overwhelming for fresh falna holders, especially if you get piled by a whole group of monsters. <p>The falna doesn't give you anything aside from the initial jump from a normal person to a falna holder, you have to work for it, not to mention there's no guarantee you'd ever get to the next level even if you put in the work. To be honest, despite being mentioned as "talented", all of the main high level adventurers (like the Loki Familia) are so because plot </p>

At least, when it comes to their power and the power which they can grant. </p><p>So I would say, aria > other spirits. </p><p>In ais memories albert was training and aria was watching, as if that was a commom scene. So I believe that albert did train to become strong. </p><p>
And a little off topic: </p><p>I always assumed that aria was either a captive by the oebd or that she somehow sealed the oebd, which restricted her for 1000 years, because ais said "wait for me" but now I believe that the oebd killed albert and ate aria. So her soul can't find peace/ can't rest, which is why ais wants to slay the oebd. In a sense, she still wants to "save" her mother. So that aria can finally rest. </p>

What if the power of one eyed black dragon is to deactivate the power of Falna. It would make sense if Albert could hurt him

All what you are saying is a big assumption. This shows that spirit contracts didn’t give a bigger power boost and gave a small one compared to falna. </p> </div> <p>Minos  enter in scene alone over a mountain of other monsters corpses and his sole presence keept them  away  from the capital for decades; this doesn't seem your classic minotaurus a modern level 2 adventurer can kill at will,unless you don't say the heaven's chain gave him some sort of power-up. </p><p>About the spirits, from what we see  in the story they doesn't seems something you see in the everyday life and for most of the peoples they were only legends,
Furthermore of all the heroes  of the story only two had their protection, while in the present day there are hundreds of adventurers around,so it's it's natural to  assume they were few.
Also if we assume Minos was stronger then your average minotauros we also need to assume the spirit give the Argonaut a lot of power to fighting back and we have also seen what all that power at once do to a single person. </p>

<p>Spirits =/ spirits -> their power is individual unlike a falna. E.g. jupiter became a sword, crozzo got some spirit blood and thus the swords he made were stronger (mage swords) and as we have seen with the demi spirit at level 59, she could use crazy magic spells, which were deadly for the loki familia (they have even three level 6 adventurers!) etc. </p><p>
So I believe the power granted by them varies on how strong the spirit itself is and on what the person himself needs. Meaning, crozzo didn't need stronger fighting skills so he didn't get one. He got an ability which would enhance the swords made by him. Argonaut needed an instant power up, so he got one. </p><p>So most likely what albert got from aria (whom I believe to be the spirit queen) was the ability to get stronger and stronger. Something like a pseudo-falna. Something which only aria could give (and no other spirit). Else it doesn't make sense at all. ? </p>
