For Norse myth the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda(both are collections of short myth) are probably the best starting point. I would suggest Jackson Crawford for choice translator. He hasn't done the Prose Edda yet but he has a few other translations and you can find other descent translations of the Prose Edda right now anyway.

For Greek myth the Theogony(chronicals the geneology of the gods) by Hesiod is a pretty good place to start, his other poems are useful for understanding Greek myth.

An anthology is a collection of shorter stories that are related to an existing series. Danmachi eight and fifteen are actually anthologies. An older example would be the Star Wars Tales from the Rebellion, Empire, Bounty Hunters, New Republic, etc. They are, or were canon works for the series.

Most times people see say they want to read about mythology I see people suggest “the odyssey” and “the illiad” but I’m pretty sure that would be what you stated as more heavy literature. I haven’t read them myself. I don’t really know above that rather than movies and other fiction series kind of like Danmachi that has the gods in them, but they twist the stories around like Danmachi does so those are not the best for resources on studying mythology.

Well practically since i wasnt around (envolved with university entrance exam) they took other judges now instead the older writers are the judge and anyone can sign up. If they had participated it was obvious one of the 3 old ones would win. One of the writers has gotton a contact and his book will be published and another work of his is on webnovel.

Well now i have the opportunity to try it for myself. I do have the idea for it. If i not be lazy i would like to try it
