You just answered your own question. It makes absolutely no sense to come to the wiki out of your own free will and expect not to get spoiled. Should I be allowed to go to the Fairy Tail wiki and complain about all the spoilers I see on Natsu's page? If I was behind in the series it'd be a massive spoiler to learn that Natsu is related to Zeref and isn't even human. Sure, you could say "but Fairy Tail is fully translated though!", but in the end people would still be looking at the wiki regardless. We're not the only ones who do this either, the Naruto wiki does the same with a character

Even if we reverted it to how it originally was, mentioning the spoiler would be unavoidable and people would still complain. People will complain about spoilers no matter what as long as the Japanese release is ahead

Besides, the light novel does not revolve around the English community, it is a Japanese series and all information should be mentioned even if it's not translated yet. Unlike Shonen manga like One Piece or Fairy Tail, DanMachi doesn't get a weekly translation, and waiting for the English release means the info wouldn't be able to be added for months. The English community (mainly reddit) doesn't seem to understand this and demands that the wiki cater to them

It's only 16 since you wouldn't really count the spinoffs, and I disagree that it's a "massive spoiler" when you could pretty much guess it from volume 1

No wikis use spoiler tags as far as I can tell because of viewer discretion

This is something I see on a few different pages comment sections. It seems like it is common enough that the reason for why it stays as is should have its own blog post or something to explain (it might already be in the manual of style, but I am too lazy to check.)

Regardless, this seems like a thing that the community generally brings up every now and again, until an admin comes to explain. On that note, thank you to our admins who have explained this multiple times, and patiently address most questions that anyone has on the series.

@Angelo Gabrini I feel like I've seen you explain this over and over to the point that it seems, understandably, annoying to you in some of your replies. Is it possible for you to tag a different admin to answer so that you can increase the time in the interval between you answering the same question? Or a quick blog link with the answers to the common arguments. Then you could just point people to the blog post, and if they come back with more FAQ's then you can answer those remaining questions individually.

I feel like you're a really active member of several wikia, so it's impressive how quickly you tend to reply, by the way.

While I appreciate you airing your grievance here rather than making a one sided thread on reddit. People need to understand this wiki regardless of being English as a official language does not and never will ever cater to one group of individuals. The regular users that are here are an international group of many different languages, English is mostly just used as the medium of communication.

It is unreasonable to not keep the wiki up to date just because one group lags behind, albeit not necessarily their fault, on staying up on where the series is currently at. The idea that a wiki isn't going to have up to date information just because the latest volume isn't available to some group show a unrealistic belief that the world will cater to them. That isn't how thing play in the real world and it isn't how the work here.

One of the reasons this wiki is kept up to date is for the users that wish to discuss current topic and otherwise would have no real way to inform themselves. Whether they look into that information is entirely their choice. No one forces anyone to look up things here, but like any other encyclopedia in existence the entire point is to compile information people might not already know.

There is a fairly simple process to avoid most spoilers. Avoid a wiki if you don't want spoiled, it is seriously common sense and no one, bloody no one, should need to be told that. Barring avoiding a wiki altogether, read the short summaries of the volumes one has not read and avoid anything that might be applicable to that summary. Frankly people should be willing to put in a little effort for their own sake instead of complaining and acting surprised when they find a spoiler.

@Rqwe1 As a general rule the first admin to respond is the first one of us to find what ever the subject is. Angelo has college, I have a full time job plus a couple hour of computing, and I'm sure Rigel has responsibilities too. So, it isn't necessarily practical to wait for one of the other admins if it might be a day before on can respond.

The reason Angelo is a bit annoyed at some of the posters is the repetition of the complaints, usually by the same small group of individuals.
