He is probably in the top 3 most experienced level 4 mortal vs mortal fighters. Vanir can probably assess that Bell's stats are far better than his own, so he adjusts to counter that. Look at how Ryuu tried to handle Hogni in volume 16. Experience is what allowed them to last as long as they did.
