Not when he is a new level 5. Maybe once he's mid/high level 5, but not before. It is a level 6 monster and fighting it solo causes it to pull out a weapon to make itself stronger. Add onto that the level 4 spartoi that continuously attack making fight even more difficult.
He might be able to solo it by the time he is mid or late level 5.
