I definitely agree with you concerning this, although in my case I feel this for characters from other series since I'm not particularly attached to characters from DanMachi. Your point is about Oomori expanding on dead characters later on but I feel like characters that the author could've done more with also apply

Tying that into your complaint about the Astraea Familia, I agree that the author could've kept them alive or at least done more with them. I'm getting bored of same old Hestia, Loki, and Freya Familias with everyone else being a one off, Orario doesn't really feel alive when everyone else only exists when the plot needs them to. Having the Astraea Familia around could've made things more interesting, even if it would potentially end with their deaths

I would've liked to see how the past generation could've contributed to the current one, despite their own weaknesses and failures.

The problem with this is that unless Oomori does something different then it's literally just going to be more DanMachi, it won't feel unique or different at all

As for me I have quite a few but probably one of my biggest complaints/wishes is Oomori not taking advantage of the world of DanMachi. I feel like restricting everything to Orario was a terrible move that kills any reason for Oomori to explore beyond the city's borders. Sure, there's been mentions of stuff outside, but FC Freya is the only thing that's actually touched on stuff outside (Melen doesn't count since it's right outside Orario)

Familia Chronicle could've been a way to remedy that by focusing on new characters from outside of Orairo but in the end the series just focuses on popular characters that are going to be featured in an upcoming arc (Ryuu arc and Freya arc)

I feel like it would've been better to spread the Gods and Familias across the world and have them have areas of influence or something

Regardless of whatever thread it was you seem to be missing my point. Rqwe1's post is "What wasted potential do you wish got explored?", what you proposed is essentially adding stuff to the existing story and making excuses to justify it, unlike what I mentioned which is rearranging the story to explore the world. If said stuff was actually implemented/explored things would've gone differently, I'm not saying that Oomori should have the Hestia Familia start going outside Orario now for no reason

The thing is that in order to "rearrange history" Omori will necessarily have to add things to the existing history because as it stands now there is no reason for Orario adventurers to leave the city, unless it's on vacation Imao.

Which Omori is already doing, with the mentioned barrier that Alfia and Zard guarded, they will surely have to leave the city to attend to the matter, however this is a new addition.

That's not what we (Kevhunt and I) said at all, what we argued was that you were trying to add things without any lore basis to back it up, and throughout the argument you just ignored our claims and insisted that there was nothing wrong with it without giving a satisfiactory answer so we got tired of it

Also, the OEBD being outside of Orairo isn't anything new, obviously they'd need to leave to fight it, and the adventurers going outside of Orario to fight the OEBD isn't exploration, that's literally just going from point A to point B. What I mean by exploration is taking full advantage of your fantasy world

I don't remember which thread it is so I can't check. That being said I don't recall ever being "aggressive" about it, maybe that's a difference in perspective

The reason why Danmachi can't take advantage of the whole fantasy world is because Omori made the mistake of centralizing all the power in Orario, so it's not possible to have good adventures outside of it.

My point for taking advantage of the world was for him to decentralize power and introduce alternative sources of power to the falna which don't necessarily need the dungeon, which is of course a gigantic abuse of plot convenience.

But I think that we can be flexible, he was already wrong and to remedy the matter he will have to resort to the convenience of the plot, but if it is for the sake of improving the story by giving it more diversity and being able to take advantage of the whole world, I gladly give him my blessings in that endeavor.

In fact that is what he has been doing, so far in the novels he has only opened that door with the knight of knights, who is supposedly level 7 despite living on a ship and traveling the world, but in DanDemo it has become recurring, for example with Dim who was able to defeat black Balor level 8 with a "soul ability", also with Argonaut's companions (Yuri, Garms and Elmina) who faced Black Udaeus (level 7) without having falna and Epimetheus which was also quite powerful with an alternative source to the falna.

These events have generated a shower of criticism, and I fully understand why, strictly speaking, this could even be considered a retcon, but no matter how questionable it may be, I see the positive side, other sources of power mean diversity and this opens the possibility to new scenarios, that's why it seems good to me.

In short, I think that Omori eventually regretted his highly restrictive system and wanted to modify it, obviously he was not going to be able to do it while maintaining perfect coherence, but I recognize his willingness to improve and I also sincerely think that other sources and means of alternative powers can greatly improve the story, such as allowing the exploration of the whole world, as was done in Aedes Vesta with Olympia for example.

Do not get me wrong, I do not intend to persuade you to see things as I do, the idea is not to repeat that debate, I just want to leave my point of view in this post on how Danmachi can take advantage of the whole world of fantasy and why it is good to see the benefits of this approach without roundly focusing on the bad things involved.

Not really? None of your examples are any different from the author just handing out falna power ups. That being said I do agree with leaving the topic as is instead of dragging it out even further

What else would it be guarding in Dragon Valley?

Personally, i feel like how different countries try to play catch up with orario would have been interesting. i can imagine countries with a more dictator style regime actually partially folowing kali familia example in the world of danmachi. but not going that extreme. a country like rakia could actually afford a method like that though.

or for that matter, with the importance of magic stones to the point where even street lamps use it, how much the dungeon seems to be needed and how if, its mystery were to be solved and hypothetically, monsters stopped spawing, where would the word technology be if the dungeon is done for.

Or for that matter, even resentment towards orario for hogging the strongest adventurers and many places in the rest of the world suffering. i feel like there is a lot of potential to be explored in exploring the way the rest of the world feels towards orario and anything they do in regards to that.
