Having SO shortest volume to finish the war against the Corrupted Spirit ? It feel like a programmed failure to prepar for a longer volume like SO 11 was for SO 12 or just an convoluted excuse to make FF rank up.

According to the synopsis, Syr will convince the Freya Familia members. I’m curious which ones have joined new familias and which are still staying to serve Freya.

Surprised to see they’re going right into fighting the corrupted spirits, was expecting a more general reconnaissance expedition. Wonder if this means we’re closer to getting some big reveals, since the more they get to the source of the spirits, the more likely Ais’ secrets will be unveiled.

Having a true Loki/Freya Familia team-up now after everything that happened just makes the most sense. It’ll be good to actually see the dynamics between them all, since we’ve only ever really been told they don’t get along, never shown extensively beyond Ottar on occasion.

Are you sure this is a joint expedition? The image says that the Freya family enters the scene and that Syr is trying to unite the "brave" ones who do not accept orders from anyone, so there is a big problem asking them such a thing.

Also, it mentions that the "strongest" and the "biggest" face each other, that does not sound like collaboration to me.

Of course I could be misinterpreting the text but I do not see that it says explicitly or implicitly that they will work together, but rather that they will be rivals during the epic.

You’re misinterpreting the text. It clearly says that it’s a faction alliance and that the two familias will join forces to fight corrupted spirits. Syr will act as mediator to make this alliance possible.

I just think that maybe this time we can see a Balor battle on the way to floor 60. There are not many opportunities left to show the floor boss when the final arc with OEBD is coming near.

The Loki and Freya families have worked together before, albeit reluctantly, such as when they joined forces against Evilus; and considering how the Freya family works, it only takes an order from Syr for them to effectively collaborate without causing problems, so it's not that complicated for this alliance to materialize.

What surprises me is that Omori doesn't give these volumes exclusively to the Loki family to show off their new ranks; given that they easily reached the 59th floor and since that last expedition all their elite have increased in level, so it would be sensible to assume that they should be enough on their own to explore the 60th floor since the difficulty between one floor and another does not increase more than the increase in level.

It may be that the fear is due to the corrupted spirit but with 3 level 7s and super Ais with black or white wind, wouldn't that be enough?

Things like this seem to me to be the product of that absurd 1-year time limit, which doesn't allow for the plots to develop harmoniously/gradually and forces all events to be rushed; at least in my opinion, an alliance of factions to delve deeper into the dungeon is too premature because what exactly has led the Loki family to think that they can't continue on their own as they have done until now and need a coalition?

Now is basically the perfect time for an alliance between them to finally happen.

The closest to an actual team-up we had was the final fight against Evilus, and even then the literal plan was just to treat them like attack dogs and sicc them on the demi spirits. There might have been something during Astrea Record (haven't finished all of the novels yet) but from what I know they pretty much fought all their battles separately.

But now the Familia's been humbled, most of them no longer having their full arrogance or reason to push themselves so hard, thus (even if they have to be told to do it first), they've mellowed out enough to the point that they would reasonably fight alongside others.

Like I mentioned, we've never really gotten to see the extent of the "rivalry" between the groups, just that they fought alot. So we're actually well past due for extended interactions between pretty much everyone. What does a full conversation with Hedin and Riveria look like? Or Finn and the Gullivers? Or Tiona and Hogni (now that I wanna see)? There's definitely alot there that we could and should get.

The FF members aren't doing anything right now, why not have them join up to add that extra fire power and make things relatively easier for everyone, since there's pretty much no reason not to for the sake of egos anymore. I highly doubt any "bickering" is going to actively cause any problems at this point, probably will just be used for comedic effect, pretty much like how it is with Hestia Familia all the time anyway.

I wonder if Bell will partner on this expedition and whether he will get along with Lefiya.
