<p>Well, that's disappointing. </p>

<p>Up to 1-3 S-ranked basic abilities at most, since they're capped at S999 for anyone but Bell. </p><p>As for Haruhime boosting him for said exhibition fight, this would be considered outside interference, which has no place in singular combat. </p>

<p>It all depends on whether the Big Three reach level 7 by EoS or not. </p><p>If they do, then we might have a slight power inflation on our hands, with a race between Bell, Ottar and Mystery Dude to be the first to reach level 8. </p><p>Otherwise, a brand-new level 7 Bell would be the equivalent of a mid-level 8, which would be more than enough for whatever the Dungeon could throw at him. </p><p>The logical solution would be for Bell's hidden stats to consolidate into an official level, say from a low-level 7 (with hidden stats) to I0 level 8 in one go (EoS), on the condition that he starts leveling-up sooner in his development. </p><p>The other condition is for Uchide no Kozuchi to stop being effective on him for whatever reason (in a pinch, always blame Liaris Freeze), in order to prevent the massively overpowered mess that would be a level 8 Bell with 1.5 levels' worth of hidden stats, plus an extra level from UnK, with a Grand Bell Argonaut on top. </p>

<p>I'm afraid that Bell is destined to be a Naruto-type character, with a few variations of the same move to keep people interested. </p><p>This also applies to his weapon of choice. </p>

<p>It's not about including every single detail, but about staying true to the spirit of the original material. </p><p>If a single mangaka managed to get it right within a few panels, then why can't an army of animators do the same? </p><p>@The Red Emperor </p><p>My pleasure </p><p>People like to focus on the action sequences, but it is in character interactions such as this one where you can catch a glimpse of Oomori's brilliance, managing to keep the story light and deep at the same time. </p>

<p>For the bar fight, the animation team went too far with the beating Welf and Bell received. </p><p><i>"The man grabs hold of Welf's outstretched hand just before it makes contact with another adventures face, pulls it back with one hand, and flips him on his back."</i> </p><p>The manga got this one perfectly, the anime not so much. </p><p><i>""I throw punch after punch, but he keeps dodging by the slimmest of margins——I catch a glimpse of his pompous smirk between my fists.</i> </p><p>Suddenly his body becomes a blur. Just like that, my punches hit nothing but open air. </p><p>"——" </p><p>I'm very confident in my speed and agility, but it feels like he's trying to show me up. He's laughing at me. </p><p>I finally get him squared in my sights and lunge forward, only to feel sudden intense pain just below my chest. My eyes fly open in pain and I realized that he's buried his knee in my gut. </p><p>He grabs my airborne body by my shoulder and forces my head up. </p><p>His incoming fist fills my vision like an incoming boulder. Stars explode in front of my eyes. </p><p>"Mr.Bell?!" </p><p>I fly backward."" </p><p>Neither the anime not the manga got that one right. </p><p>One did too much, while the other not enough. </p><p>As Hyacinthus himself said, it was just a love tap, and not a massacre. </p><p>Also, they messed-up the part with Bete, who pulled Bell to his feet with rage in his eyes, rather than a hint of concern in his voice. </p><p>As for the dance, it is not the scene itself, but rather Bell's coaching that was a little disappointing. </p><p>Hermes is much smoother in the light novel and manga, and casually told Bell to take his place after being so over-the-top. </p><p>He went from theatrical to dismissive in exactly 0.1 second. </p><p>Miach and Takemikazuchi are also smooth operators. </p><p>Miach and Naaza got close to Ais and Bell to very subtly show them how to invite a potential partner to dance, only turning around to grin at them after the fact. </p><p>Takemikazuchi, while dancing with Mikoto, got back-to-back with Bell, and whispered a few tips in his ear. </p><p>All in all, Bell's coaching in the light novel and manga was relatively covert, making Bell shine all the brighter. </p>

<p>I prefer the term "ingénu". </p><p>He is naive enough not to question Hestia about his abnormal growth, even after seeing that his skill slot had been tampered with. </p><p>Everybody in his Familia is in on the secret, ever since the beginning of volume VIII, but he has yet to notice their deception. </p><p>In other words, he is far from stupid, but much too trusting. </p><p>On another note, what would other Familia do even if they learned about his secret? </p><p>With Loki, Hephaestus, Ganesha, Hermes, Takemikazuchi, Miach, and now the Modi and Magni Familia as allies (with some being closer than others), anyone but Freya would be a fool to go after Bell. </p>

<p>The first line was for you, the rest was mostly for me. </p><p>Considering that Hestia prefers to take the safer route and wait before having Bell level-up, doing so before the two month mark would draw too much attention. </p><p>Over three months would put Bell in unnecessary danger, since his enemies come from both within and outside the Dungeon, the latter not being restricted to specific floors. </p><p>Why Hestia didn't think of leveling him up without reporting it to the Guild is beyond me. </p><p>If she's afraid of Bell spilling the beans, then she just has to lie to him as well, just like she did with Liaris Freese. </p><p>-Can I just tell you about your status? </p><p>-O-Of course, Kami-sama. </p><p>-Congratulations Bell, you reached S+ in all categories. <p>It's impossible to know. </p><p>Bell has already met the requirements for a level-up (i.e. a minimum of one D-ranked basic ability and a deed deemed worthy by the gods), but is waiting for his stats to reach a satisfactory number before officially leveling-up. </p><p>Logically, he would wait to reach S-rank for all basic abilities before leveling up, but we still don't know Bell's final level 2 and 3 stats, so he might have to wait for an all SS or even SSS status in order to reach the same numbers. </p><p>Since Bell's relative strength should be the equivalent of a low-level 6 as a freshly anointed level 5, now is the time for his promised training camp with Ais. </p><p>If we wait anymore than that, then Ais and Bell will have to train as relative equals, stats-wise (withouth Aerial, Avenger and Argonaut, that is), which wouldn't be as productive (e.g. He would be dealt less damage: less damage = less endurance). </p><p>With volume XVI of the main series being about Syr, with a high possibility of Freya Familia's involvement, the time is ripe for their final session as master and subordinate. </p><p>The issue is that Ais has made a deal with Freya in order to receive training from Ottar, whose content is yet unknown, but may very well involve Ais abstaining from further training with Bell, or even distancing herself from him entirely. </p><p>With the events of S012, Loki Familia is now in Bell's debt, meaning that they could take over for Ais without it breaking her promise to Freya, or she could simply decide to go against the latter's wishes, with Loki Familia returning the favor for DMC11, when Freya Familia prevented them from interfering in the duel between Asterius and Bell. </p><p>Cue Allen vs Bell. </p>

<p>Props for accurately predicting Hestia Familia's contribution to the war effort in SO12. </p>

<p>Bell isn't actually a rabbit though. There are rabbit people in the danmachi universe. He just has the rabbit nickname because there isn't much to his background so they just gave him rabbit cause he looks like one </p> </div> <p>Also, rabbit feet are considered lucky charms. </p><p>Even though the gods don't know about his unique ability, Bell is lucky to still be alive, with the pace he has been keeping. </p>

<p>The bar fight and dance scene were done much better in the manga. </p><p>The director was a bit ham-fisted with these two. </p><p>Also, Eina seemed dismissive of Bell after their meeting, and Bell's first encounter with Freya was quite underwhelming. </p><p>She acted more like Demeter than as a goddess of beauty with the power to charm the gods themselves, no matter what they have between their legs. </p>

<p>There are also the level gaps to take into account. </p><p>Their value has often been debated, but we never managed to reach a consensus. </p><p>The only thing we know for sure is that level differences are difficult to overcome for anyone not named Bell, even if the lower-leveled adventurer has more talent/potential than the higher-leveled one. </p>

<p>Here are my thoughts on the subject: </p><p>Haruhime is technically a mage (sorceress), and like all pure casters, she will always need permanent protection. </p><p>Even if she were to learn concurrent chanting, she would never become a frontline fighter, and would still need to be surrounded on all sides in order to be safe. </p><p>Higher level mages like Riveria can defend themselves in close-quarter combat, but only against weaker opponents. </p><p>In Haruhime's case, there were no such opponents until very recently. </p><p>Welf's armors may seem to be unreliable, but you have to keep one thing in mind: Bell's endurance. </p><p>In his "last-know status updates", Bell's endurance has always reached SS-rank, which means that he had to endure considerable punishment in order to do so, and so did his armor. </p><p>Since each iteration of the Pyonkichi series tends to last a few volumes, it would be more than adequate for a normal adventurer's needs, but Bell is anything but normal. </p><p>With Liaris Freeze increasing his growth rate tenfold or so, it would be unreasonable to expect Welf's creation to be able to keep up with this frenetic pace. </p><p>Whenever they fail, Bell is up against insurmountable odds, with him being armor-less making the situation seem even more dire, making it more of a plot device than anything. </p><p>As for magic swords, they may not contribute to the growth of their users, but UMS are sure to be different, since they are fueled by the mind of those who wield them rather than having reserves of their own. </p><p>While I may dislike Uchide no Kozuchi, fifteen minutes is more than enough to put an end to most minor fights, and its duration will most likely increase due to a combination of Mikuzumenohou and Haruhime's level 2 status. </p><p>All things considered, the rest of Hestia Familia may be holding Bell back, but they are also pushing him forward in their own way, and would be quite overpowered in level-appropriate expeditions, if Bell ever left for greener pastures. </p>

<p>Hi Nk0xx </p><p>I think Bell will continue making silly mistakes, in order for him to stay somewhat of an underdog, only the nature of his mistakes will change, turning them into conscious decisions. </p><p>Even as a coward, Bell was quite the Daredevil, and his risk proclivity hasn't diminished in the slightest, leading to what some would consider to be rookie mistakes. </p><p>Volume XII showed a glimpse of emotional growth on his part, but he has since then reverted to his former self, so Bell being an ingénu will keep being taken advantage of, until Oomori finally hands him his man card, that is. </p>

<p>Each level gained represents over a year of experience gained from consistent dungeon delving, meaning that there is usually a considerable technical gap between levels. </p><p>According to Ais' assessment of Bell, his accelerated growth isn't limited to his basic abilities, but extends to his technical proficiency as well, although probably not to the same extent. </p><p>With this in mind, Bell may have an experience deficit compared to adventurers of a similar level, still making rookie mistakes on a regular basis, but his relative experience far exceeds his five or so months of ¨active duty¨. </p>

<p>We've been over this already. </p><p>Ais was impressed with Bell's gains in volume III and VI, even tough he hasn't updated his status even once during their training camps together. </p><p>A raise in basic abilities was not the reason for his improvement, which leaves technical and tactical proficiency. </p><p>Only a prodigy would be able to make enough gains within a single week for the Sword Princess to take notice. </p>

<p>FYI, you can replace "god/godess" with "deity", since it is gender neutral. </p>

<p>And here I was, hoping for something juicy to chomp into. </p>
