Truly I agree. I've hated Wistoria for a long time, but the LN itself isnt actually all too bad. Some of the people who hated Wistoria on Baidu, had to reevalutate the series too. I've seen comments thrown like, "The manga is terrible, only thing that's worth reading is the LN" etc etc. They still hold their original stance, but they evaluate the LN as higher than the normal story.
No it wasn't. I'm assuming since it's a past event where Will and Collete became friends according to her profile, there will be more LNs based on Wistoria's past, and Collete is next. Honestly it's quite a shame Wistoria wasn't originally a Light Novel. It at least does better than the manga form.
No it is a prequel Light Novel series based around Will's past when he first entered the Academy 5 years ago. From how Omori worded it as "another main story" to Wistoria I am assuming it will continue. The ending to the Light Novel also implies the prequel will continue with Will's 5 years at the Academy that were not explained in the main series.
There's a lot more in this LN that I havent covered, I just explained the main gist since it focuses on Will and Elfaria but it goes through things like how Will and Sion, Collete met, how Will became hated in the Academy, how Will managed to befriend his teacher Workner etc.
Omori clarifies a lot in this prequel. Whether it's satisfactory or not is another thing but it does a lot of explaining I feel regardless should've been earlier
It explains the basis of the magical world, the magic system that was sorely lacking in explanation until now, like the elements that people use, and how one element per person was generally the limit, which is why even prodigies like Elfaria just cant do everything possible. There are exceptions like Multos(or people who can use multiple elements) or people who have an affinity to the ultimate rare magic of light magic.
The characters Will and Elfaria's relationship is explained in very through detail throughout both of their POVs, making their entire relationship in the novel and manga come a lot more smoothly and understandable once we go through it all. It's revealed Elfaria did not go to the Tower willingly at first, as she intended to stay with Will forever, but due to one of the Magia Vende's nearing death and the reveal of her talent that she tried to hide from the public, the other Magia Vende effectively forced her into the role.
Will's ridiculous physical stats? Yeah that's not him working hard or never give up bullshit. He was blessed with that from the very start. To the point where he could break bricks even as a baby. The later manga chapters clarify that Will's magical energy keeps stocking up in his body and he cannot release magic through any other way outside of using Wis. The Light Novel clarfies that the magical energy he keeps building up and stocking up, is amplifying his physical parameters to a level ridiculous for a human. Will does train, but thats more to learn how to use the sword rather than helping his physical stats, since they're already monstrous even when he was 10 years old.
To put in perspective, Will's physical abilties were so good that he was already gathering far more "practical" (actual combat in Dungeon) credits than all the other first year students according to Workner by a large margin.
Will's physical amplified abilities do however come with a cost. In the early manga chapters of Wistoria there's a few joke scenes about Will working too hard and having his hair growing whiter due to stress. The Light Novel clarifies that is the sign Will is using his abilities too much, and it starts removing his inner self and memories the whiter his hair gets. Will would lose a bit of his memories just using the magical energy he had inside of him with Wis, and if he used the real Wis, he would become completely amnesiac. The first time he used Wis according to the manga chapter 36 or something, he beat the enemy sure, but the LN covers the scene after where he became completely amnesiac as a result and forgot Elfaria and himself entirely. That realization broke Elfaria, and their adopted father used a hypnotic magic to forcefully give Will records of his past from the father's view to keep Will from completely forgetting. But any memory that the father did not have of Will, Will lost permanently that day.
With one exception.
The promise mentioned at the start of Wistoria and is the premise of the entire story. That's Will's one "true" memory that hasn't been deleted or given to him through a suggestion and it's the only thing he feels strongly about when he looks at his past memories. So basically Omori divulged the real reason why the childhood promise scene mattered. Elfaria who later found this out as well sobbed and decided she would definetly see the sunset with Will and find a way to repair Will's memories no matter the cost. When they became students, she repeatedly broke into the forbidden libraries of the Academy with her clones, to try and find secret documents relating how to repair memories with magic. She became stupidly overprotective of him after the incident where Will used Wis, and made sure she could handle anything that came near him, because if Will fought, even if he won, he would lose memories of her and she was terrified of the idea. She helped Will hide the fact he was an incompetent, by giving him a necklace with her magical power in it, and decieved the eyes of the Academy by channeling her power in it, so everyone, even Will thought he could use magic when he enrolled in the Academy. It however did get exposed later in the Light Novel.
At the end of the Light Novel, Will uses his Wis at full power to defeat the enemy, and as a result, completely destroys his memories on an even harder level than before, and only referred to himself as a "Sword" because his Wis turning him white/silver is a sign he's becoming more "Sword" than human. The principal arrives too late, to see Elfaria sobbing and Will mentally dead, and uses the magic she used on Will on the manga to try and restore him. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough to restore Will back to the state he was at the start of the LN. Apparently the principal's magic is good enough to remove the memory backlash of Will using his physical abilties normally, but she wasn't good enough to restore his memories once Will actually used Wis. Knowing that The principal noted, Will's body was still far too young to handle the power of Wis, decided to make a deal with Elfaria. If Elfaria properly became a Magia Vende and became a "goal" for Will, the principal promised to eventually repair Will's memories and raise Will in the Academy where he could eventually grow and handle the power of Wis. Hearing her terms Elfaria agreed, and left Will to her. And then the end of the LN comes where Will and Elfaria seperate and they once more promise to meet with Will saying he would reach where she was one day, and Elfaria, although not wanting to shackle down Will anymore, cried and smiled and promised she would wait for him always.
And that's the end of the LN. It's implied there will be more LNs with Will's time at the academy with the other characters in the manga that we've known up to now. Due to Wis backlash(plot) Omori can always just say Will forgot whenever something doesnt match up from Will's POV in the manga when he talks about his past. The next arc is implied to be how Will and Colette from how the LN left off as Colette is still an unresolved plot point that the LN started and didnt finish.
Picked up the Wistoria LN, since I got it a copy from a friend.
And I must say, Omori should've made Wistoria a Light Novel from the getgo. It's a prequel set 5 years in the past when Will first started his journey and my god does it answer a lot of questions and flesh out the basic settings of the world and characters that should've been in Wistoria manga from the get go. I guess Omori couldnt add this in the manga due to a lack of space, but honestly while the Wistoria Light Novel isn't groundbreaking good or anything, it drastically made Wistoria look better than how the manga was showing it up until now to be honest. It seems Omori intends on continuing this Light Novel series for Wistoria basing it on the past, so honestly I might pick up the next one when the time comes.

Finn does mention how he, Gareth, Riveria, Ottar and Mia kinda basically forced their way onto the team fighting Behemoth, and Finn does remark they were on the backline while Riveria mentions Z/H basically worked them hard as supports when she brings up her side of it, so Mia was likely support like the rest.

True, but considering they were merely introduced to show off the standard impression of Z/H compared to everyone else, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the other executives at least were on par, some dialogue from AR does suggest their entire executive group were all monsters after all. Omori always does add hype as time goes on, so even this statement may not hold if they get an offical debut, and I think it's a similar case with Leon here, due to being the latest powerhouse introduced, and Omori's standards of making his powerhouses broken only increase with time.
Oh yeah, I remeber lines like that, it was in the first part that the CN TLer had done. The context of that scene is when Ryuu gives Bell a full-blown smile, after recieving his gift of a hair accessory if I recall. Bell was shaken by that smile, which is at the point where those lines you posted appear. As I said before the CN TLer only did a few pages, so I dont know the context of scenes after that point.
@Jtg1111111 The one who spoiled the information originally was a baidu user who had bought the BD and the one I posted on Reddit is also the one translating the IF in Chinese, but he's only gotten a few pages so far. The IF is mostly sweet moments yes, he brings up moments like Astraea and Syr, but those have not been translated by him, yet. The OEBD part is at the very end, which kinda spoils the sweet and good ending feels the IF has had throughout Part 1 and Part 2.
While the ending possibly hints a sequel, I do feel like leaving it like this is a bit in bad taste. Honestly if the last part wasnt so direct and just vaguely hinted at if Omori wanted to write a sequel, I don't think anyone would have particularly minded. Ending a story like this the way it is now and when we have no idea if it will come, just feels like a depressing undertone, that wasn't needed.
I know it talks about the Freya elite, I assume it just meant the ones that were on the battlefield though, and notably Ottar and Allen are elsewhere while the rest of Freya Familia were together, albeit split in their own battles with Hedin at the top of the church holding a commander position, while the Gulliver Brothers were on the other side from Hegni fighting Basram's Spirit Solidiers. The idea of Freya elite could fit with the stronger Einhejar that were with Hogni at the time like Van and make the sentence valid as well, it's broad enough to intrerept the others outside of top tiers.
@Longhatruong Pretty sure the scene in AR is talking about the Freya elites that were with Hogni when they were sent to take care of Evilus solidiers that Hedin couldnt reach.

I think his editors are putting A LOT more work than we really understood. Honestly, I'd like to give them my whole hearted praise if they managed to stop Wistoria tier writing from Danmachi. It's a job that must be hard.
Honestly could write an essay on why Bell is just so much more better written than Will and I don't even particuarly even think Bell is that good, it's just Will is so bad as whether it comes down to his character or his action scenes being so boring, that he generally is OPer than everyone anyway, or Omori introduces a threat that's so ridiculously out of proportion like the Dungeon arc in Wistoria, and buffs Will to make that threat look like nothing. It's all very boring and a terrible way to show a protagonist. Even in the recent Volume 18, while it had it's moments of ???, all of it pales in comparsion compared to how he writes Wistoria. It's not like you see Bell instantly dominating Ottar, the moment he gets a massive buff from Hedin, it's still evokes some hype, because it's still a very close match that could swing either way, not a one sided stomp.

I'm so sorry, I just can't anymore. Wistoria has truly become awful. No even that's an understatement at this point. After seeing some stuff like the recent Anniversary 5 and this, I'm really starting to faith in the author for writing something decent. Not even good, just decent, because asking for something good seems to be wishing too much from Omori these days.
To be fair on the Loki Level 7 thing, there are 2 general ways of ranking up, doing one large feat, or stacking up multiple feats, that arent as grand but can eventually lead to a Level Up. They must have some other smaller feats, as their Status as Level 6s were nearly maxed out and adding in SO4 and SO12 its probably enough to be a feat to some degree even if it's not a large feat due to the amount of excelia being divided with others.
While I dislike the use of plot armor myself especially with how the use of it is rapidly increasing since V14, I think Omori has been pretty clear on the point that he won’t stop using it, even after everything he’s set up about the rules, each and every time whether it’s SO12 or AR or V18 he’s clearly going to use whatever he can to make his cast win despite the 0% odds. The idea of Omori relying on less plot armor is nice but unlikely considering the current flow of the story.
