@Angelo Gabrini Thanks for the quick reply :) I saw it but waited in case others replied. I guessed as much that the situation was toxic to some degree, hence why I apologized for repetition. My bad; I should’ve checked up your past replies prior to posting. My intention wasn’t to add to that stress. It’s unfortunate that you have to deal with a vocal Reddit(primarily) group. English ain’t my first language, so I’m not necessarily in that group but have had to deal with such on other communities. It’s true that it becomes a situation of being damned if you do, damned if you don’t. As someone that values being informed over being spoiled (why I got into editing wikia) I get it, but this situation can be handled slightly differently I feel. Though admittedly it would be inconsistent with the current standards. I haven’t been active on wikia for years, especially after the ownership change, but back then, some of my communities did have spoiler tags for some portions of info akin to why certain character pages have redirects. Things may have changed now though.
As for the volume count, yes I was stretching for effect but I meant in the sense that, Freya still features as a recurring character in Oratoria and Syr appears in Ryuu Chronicles, without any reveal, so I counted them since audience will still be curious enough to search. Just explaining the logic :) Though I acknowledge your response.
@Kevhunt06 I get ya. Yeah, I’ve not met this particular group of problematic people for this franchise, but have met ones from other IPs. I am speaking as an international user myself. I know english is just the medium of communication. Anyone that expects being catered to just cuz of language is dumb, and that wasn’t my intent. I was referring in behalf of my peers from non-English countries as well, since a wiki is just googled as the most accessible way of gaining info.
Here’s what I’m putting forward though. And I’ll avoid being vague now that we’re reasonably into the conversation. The loss of Syr’s page altogether. Yes, spoilers are unavoidable and ofc I’m not saying to go a dumb route and fudge the details. Angelo brought up Fairy Tail and Naruto. Similar thing occurred there when characters identities were revealed and thus compiled into other pages. That’s unavoidable. However, Syr to me, is different context at this point in the franchise at least, cuz even if we take vol.16, it doesn’t necessarily erase her distinct character page. Folk could get to her page and then read that she’s an alternate persona of Freya, rather than reading Freya’s page to find out why they got redirected. It’s similar to why clones or AU versions of characters may not necessarily get compiled into the same page: it’s a subjective thing ofc so I have no reason to argue. Again, at this point you guys have gone through this enough and explained, so I’m just giving my reasoning for the original post before I chill out. Just my take on it ofc. I respect y’all for answering my questions :D I believe in democracy, so I just put forward my opinion and go with majority preference. I mean no disrespect.
