i've question .. when omori said bete could bete ais (ariel) what did he actually say
bete needs moon+hati to beat ais with ariel?

or can he beat her with just his boots

yeah, but what heremes said could still be true ... having reach higher level doesn't necessarily mean you have more hero potential
maybe there a talent gap but we don't know how many years of adventuring they done . Z&H said to 1000 year history right? maybe it took them 1000 years produce these high level adventures.
wasn't finn the first member of loki that probably meant finn, riveria & gareth)had to learn everything by themselves.and i think that probably why their progress is lot slower. on the contrary ais had them so her progress went lot faster..
( tho not now i do think today's era will definitely matches the old one, realistically speaking before the story ends we should have (without counting bell) one level8 , six level7s & seven level6s .. )
when loki trio and freya elites levels up to 7 with haru's boost they'll technically be level8s.. well level 8s with none to low level7 stats points ..
yeah to be fair .. at this point we should think bell would solo OEBD ..( i'll probably be mad if ais didn't get do anything he gave her avenger and everything)
and i also feels like more and more plot convenience creeping in to the story.
i think he probably saying bell can use argonaut to charge his limbs... but i remeber it to be aginst hedin tho
but yeah those small charges didn't do much aginst hedin.. oh and ottar well you know
current generation have multiple level6s too and the veterans 6s should be level7s in coming volumes.
i think the idea is to have loki and freya catch up to those old familia .. surpassing is them probably not gonna happen

as a side question what you think about Ryuu's level 3 stats??
probably not .. atleast not until ais & training session happens.
he already promised he'll save her right in v16 .. and a person like bell wouldn't go back on his word.
but to be fair i wish he would stop seeing everybody as a friend.. after reading v17 i don't think any freya member hated him instead i felt like hogni and gullivers strated to kinda like him.

ais only called one of the strongest its different from called the strongest.. when talking about ottar novel (author) always says he's the strongest/cities strongest/cities.. he's not called one of the strongest.
when talking about ais it's either one of the strongest or orario's strongest swordswomen.
what lefiya said was ais surpassed him in pure swordsmanship in a 1v1 dual. but if we look at finn vs revis finn finn used kicks and punches used even at some point he used another knife to injure revis ..
ais doesn't do any of that. it just that finn strategy is superior to ais same for riveria & gareth. same for experience trio far surpasses ais that regard as well.
yeah he was only talking about strength.. but if you're adding up stats and come with the results i feel like you should also add magic to it .. especially for a person like ais who fights with magic all the time.
also i don't think anyone can argue magic won't make a difference in battles ..
but i guess you can reverse argue (i don't know if thats a thing i made that up .lol) like, say even without magic bete is on par with ais.

to my understanding magic is also a basics ability isn't bete completely missing magic?
how do one say he's overall better when he's missing on of the basic abilities!
for v17 i think he can't really get angry because syr had done so many things for him .. and he blames himself for rejecting her feelings + he also promised her that he'll save her in previous volume..
but overall i can kinda agree .. some of his choices did make annyoed.
so, every one except bete can use their skills/magic?
yeah, base bete is not gonna cut it unless he has a weapon like urga .. but i guess he can still use ais wind.

well technically bell has surpassed ottar in some ways.
* in skill+magic - its the simple fact bell skill have the greater power output.
* in growth speed(fast level ups) - no one comes close to him
* surpassing the stats limits - only person to have achieved stats above S99 reaching to SS and SSS
and ottar mentioned to have strong will power. i think at some point its even said that ottar will power is his biggest asset... what ottar gaind through decades of hardship and strangely enough bell has surpasses him in will power too.
now, ottar only said bell has to surpass him we don't know in which way...
but if its direct fight realistically bell shouldn't win but if (i should say only if) ottar decide to take on bell argonaut like how he did with ais 'ill rafaga or like how he was about to against allen's strongest magic, then that will certainly results in ottar defeat.
i could talk about ais&bell vs ottar but others have already said a lot about that(i think they have winning chances) but if bell borrowed another person's strength would that consider as him surpassing ottar!
even tho it is to be believed ais can use avenger aginst people... avenger is an unstable skill its consumes her(and drag her to death stated by riveria) because of avenger is unstable (consumes her) that's maybe why she now has white ariel ...
we would probably see ais using white ariel in the wargames.. (presumably white wind should be just as powerful as tempest avenger+nizelle if not more)
