@Angelo Gabrini "Oomori created Sword Oratoria because Ais would just solve everything in the main series"- would this mean that ryu will have to be banned from ms like ais? like combat and such? she is level 6 now just like ais and you can even argue that her skills are better than even ais now. even though its opinionated it does feel like ryu has replaced ais. the whole issue with ais was her level right? she would make things to easy for bell right? ryu is now level 6 so does that mean she has to be banned like ais? ryu would 100% make everything easier for bell now with her power even rivaling ais or better than ais with the new skills she got. i think it is very justifiable that people feel that ryu is offically replacing ais. that doesnt mean ryu is going to end up with bell but it does mean ryu and bell will most likely fight alongside each even more than ais ever will with bell. so meaning more content for ryu and ais will never be able to catch up since she will probably have at most 3 or 4 books of content with bell when ryu at that point would probably be at 15ish or maybe even 20ish books of content with bell. barring when or if we ever get the ais arc.
I also dont know why you voice you displeasure on these post when most people here know you dont like the series anymore. why keep taking part in these post or even voicing your displeasure when it is well documented that you dont like the series. it just seems pointless to me. that was my root problem on why i even commented in the first place. im excited for this next installment of ryu content yet here you are voicing your displeasure when everyone gets that you dont like this series. cant you just move on and follow other series? i hate how black clover handles its fights and quit reading the manga but i dont go to the fandom and keep voicing my displeasure about hating certain aspects of the franchise and ruining it for others. i just dropped it and that was the end of it. like for me in this series i hate that ryu wont end up with bell but i still love this series and still love following it because i know ryu is the face of this series and still have a metric ton of content still coming my way of ryu. but you dont see to have anything to look forward to and seem to always voice displeasure with this series but keep following it and commenting on post. i just dont get it. i am probably coming off rude but i just dont get why you follow a series still that you only have negative displeasure with.
I didnt say anything about Bell not being with Ais? i was just making a point that it isnt shocking that ryu is getting more and more content because she is the number one character in the series. and also just cause the author says one thing doesnt mean he will stick to it, example ais timeline and familia chronicles only being for small characters.
I really dont get why you had to bring that point up @ThatRabidPotato?
@Rigel31415 Yeah i think so it was voting to decide on what two characters would be the first ever duo unit and ryu won the first poll and bell won the second poll. both polls had every single character on it, well the second one didnt have ryu on it since she won the first one. ryu won all the regions on the first poll besides eu, haruhime won eu. Bell finished second in all regions behind ryu in the first poll. i think the concensus top three were ryu, bell, and haruhime.

I truly believe this was the ryu arc that did that for danmachi or eventually will show its fruits of labor.

I guess so but isnt he known for not up holding to what he promises? it was like 3 years ago he told ais fans to wait a little longer and they are still waiting.
@Leinad91 yes exactly right. i do believe volume 18 was the time to turn ryu into haruhime, lilie, and hestia but he didnt and maintained her role as the number 1 character in the series. every girl in the series after their arc falls off and becomes secondary. ryu is the only one that hasnt done that and thats because she is the top character and undisputed number 1 character in danmachi right now. she is the cash cow of this series and it shows with him doing another familia chronicles volume for her. still wouldnt be shocked if we get 3 more installments of familia chronicles all about ryu. to put it in comparison she is basically getting 5 volumes for herself in the past year and half. not even bell has done this before let alone other characters. she now has crazy buffs that put her in the top 5 of adventueres and it wont stop there either. i believe volume 18 confirmed that ryu will remain as the undisputed top character of the series and that it sells considering they are pumping out ryu focused content like crazy. you wouldnt be doing that if it didnt statisfy the fan base and sold like crazy.

I dont think its delusional. i really do believe ryuu can be that missing piece that helps danmachi get into that category with series like one piece. it will obviously take time but i think they are right there especially with help from season 4. one more really good season and good ms arc could put them in that realm. you guys might think its bad writing in this series but every series has that group that says a series has bad writing. i cant count how many people say mha has such bad plot and bad writing especially with the whole bakugo contraversy. yet it is an elite cash cow.
Your right that he did say that about familia chronicles being for smaller characters but he can always change that? didnt he say he started sword oratoria for ais and to flesh out her character but ended up going away from that 4 volumes in or something? i think i heard that she was hardly a focus in volume 13 to. omori is aloud to change he does it all the time. its his own series after all.

Bell is definitely debatable on screen time and such compared to ryuu but ais? I know I am not a fan of her but are you actually serious? Like really serious about that comment? You listed off what ryuu has and all ais has right now is sword ortoria and danmemo content. I didn't expect a comment like that from you rigel.
I dont get why you guys are upset by this when almost anyone could have guessed this would happen. ryuu drives this series. i personally think this series has finally found the character that can make it a cash cow series and possibly even a relevant series alongside one piece and such. your always going to put the top character in front of everyone to sell more and ryuu is that. i wouldnt be shocked if episode ryuu gets up to 5 volumes worth. she deserves it without question. i get ais fans will get mad at my comment on this but its kind of omoris fault. ais could have easily been in this position that ryuu is in but he decided against it. i might have even been an ais fan if that was the case to.
Im just excited for this next book of ryuu chronicles and cant wait to see more volumes of it. its just sad that people have to be negative about it when it was clear that stuff like this would come out. you have to sell your number one character. imagine if one piece didnt sell luffy? that would be totally bonkers.
@Angelo Gabrini just because you tell yourself it is an objective fact doesnt mean it is. there is plenty of stuff the author can write for ryuus character. i dont even know why you are even surprised about it or annoyed by it when she is the number 1 character in the series and is the face of this franchise. she keeps the money flowing into this series and you just have to live with it.
Dont be such a hater angelo. This is very exciting news and i cant wait to see what the author has in store for us with ryuu and her character moving forward. We can never have enough ryuu.

1v1 against people? Yes. Killing monsters in dungeon? No. No one compares to Ais in that category in danmachi as she has the strongest skill in all of danmachi with Avenger that will keep increasing her damage output the more her hate grows and amplifies it. Ais is the goddess that resides over life and death in the dungeon. I love Ryuu far more than Ais but dungeon wise? No one can match Ais in there besides Alfia and Zard but they are dead. Ais could probably carry hestia familia through most of the mid floors if she really wanted to by herself.
Too hard to judge. Ais strongest ability can only be used on monsters while Ryuu doesn't have that limitation. If Ais could use her strongest ability on people, avenger, the only one in the series that can really with stand her and beat her is Bell but that would be because of plot and not abilities.
Under that circumstance I think I have to go Ryuu since she has access to her strongest ability in battle while Ais does not. Avenger turns Ais into the grim reaper that stalks the halls of the dungeon but it doesnt allow her to be the grim reaper of adventurers.
Ais and avenger trumps everyone besides Bell but since she cant use it against adventurers, she doesn't stack up well against most people who have op abilities for 1v1 fights against other adventurers.
@Aniran96 Lily isn’t that popular of a character and that wasn’t an outright rejection like Syr’s was.
@ThatRabidPotato he does and doesn’t. He doesn’t give concrete resolutions with popular characters that drive the series. But someone like Syr can be outright rejected cause it doesn’t hurt anything with the fan base. Especially after the horrific things she, Syr/Freya, put Bell through.

Yes I agree. MS17 started closing the door for us but than MS18 swung it completely wide open for us again and there was definitely intention behind it. Confession would make zero sense if it was just going to go away and disappear. Like you said "We may not like this because we don't see any sense in it, but if something became clear in volume 18, it is that Bell's love life is far from defined (as far as facts I mean)", we probably wont see Bells love life settled or define until maybe the later 30's or how ever long this book series is going to go. It will probably be in the last book of the series, calling it now. Ais will get us much romance as haruhime, freya, hestia, ryuu, and lily in her arc but she wont get more than them because it wouldn't be the final book of the series, it would just be in her arc, which I don't think will be the final book since I think dungeon will be the final books.

@ThatRabidPotato the story isn’t canon but the characters are still left in character. If you watch it for yourself, you can tell Bell and Ais remain in character the entire time. If I remember correctly, Omori said he use the event to test out ideas for the main story. And I think it is realistically possible that Ais doesn’t want Bell to be her hero and nor does she want one anymore anyways. Bell also in the event expressed the uncertainty of ever committing to being a hero to Ais because he has other people he has to and will save. Albert and Bell aren’t the same and I think Ais understands that. I know somewhere Bell reminds her of her father but Bell is still not the same like him where Albert can resign him to being only Arias hero, even turning his own daughter away when it came to that.

Yeah but she said something like she never expected Bell to be that hero to her considering he does save a lot of people and that’s just who he is. She hinted in that Bell didn’t fit that mold of the kind of hero she wanted or was looking for.

Haruhime considers Bell to be her hero and Ais considered Bell to be a hero to wiene.

Forget the feelings and romance, I'm talking about just the hero part, Bell isnt a guy that can just look at them and say "sorry, I'm Ais hero, get lost". Albert said something like "I cant be your hero Ais because I have your mother", that is something Bell cant and wont do to the ones he has already saved and is a hero too. In the event I was talking about, Ais said she never expected Bell to be a hero for her since he is everyone's hero and will save any and everyone that he possibly can, she even remarks that he probably would even save her too.
It was definitely a in game event when that was said. I just don’t remember what game it was, Crosstoria or Danmachi Memoria Freese.
Didn’t Haruhime say “you are my hero” to Bell? That’s what I was talking about.
There was an event that kind of went over the hero aspect with Bell and Ais. I think it was from one of the games and Omori wrote it himself. Bell stated to Ais that he couldn’t be her hero and that a true hero doesn’t exist in this world but he was willing to save her whenever she needed it.
