What annoys me is how omori went about this
4 rewrites and he still had to use such stupid nonsensical plot armor to force it through not to mention he gave Ryu the kitchen sink and bell a useless skill
I doubt he was thinking of proper ideas whatsoever when he was writing this out cuz a lot of aspects are kinda forced here
@Gupnut i also want to see him get an enchantment of his own one of these days hopefully and either a healing or speed base skill could
Bell also met the requirements for DAs like strong body, magic resistance and spirit healing
Idk if crush fits him even tho
@Pluton9 that is not what I’m implying what I am saying is his skill set and magic in general is not all that op as ppl make it to be and I’m specifically referring to one on one situations
By no means am I suggesting to give him op shit that makes him broken what makes him op is subjective to many different ppl
For one a healing skill would make sense because it ties into how falna works I mean he has nearly died multiple times which can have a big impact to push him to improve his defense at no point has bell been shown to be op as far as I’m concerned he has only been shown as still learning to improve and nothing else
So idk how giving him something decent makes him remotely decent the whole theme seems to be overwhelming everyone else with raw power since he still lacks experience
Again this isn’t about making him op it’s about making him solid or top line magic swordsmen not anything like eminence in the shadow where the MC is op and can do anything
Again what ppl consider op is subjective to me at this point
Bells op skills are only good in general development not in an actual fight
His kit for close quarters fighting isn’t that good

I was discussing this with a friend so lemme state my points
1. most authors end up changing their plans at some point as they are conducting their work omori may have said this at the time but agendas can change what omori said years ago may not be the case now it may just be speculation but nothing is always certain
2. most of the world building that omori has done has yet to be shown in the main story we can’t keep being dependent on side stories to show how vast the world he made is or on points that are vital to the story for example regarding Zeus and Hera and their families
Not everyone reads the side stories and wants to see the MC do and see more and learn more what sense would it make to constrain the story force reliance on plot armor and deny main story only readers this kind of content
(I will mention my other points later cuz as I am writing this I’m preparing to head to work)
There are still ppl who believe in this one year timeline shit which I think was nothing more than omori talking out of his ass or a translation error
No author does something like that knowing how many corners they will write themselves into and how they could mess up or distort their story in the process
I legit do not think this one year timeline is true tbh until something proves me otherwise

@BitterBitterSweet as of rn idk about helun joining there have been no hints to that yet
She still tries to attack bell so who knows if Hestia will allow that
As for a possible new enemy using charm omori has yet to provide that other than Freya as for a corrupt spirit that’s a maybe he never put Hestia familia in a fight against those since SO 12 doubtful they may run into one in the future
And we all know how hit or miss omoris plans are with this stuff
Does anyone really think this skill is gonna be used or actually play its role?
Mari has not been on scene since volumes 12-14 and it’s unlikely she was gonna be used for the skill
Hestia even after volume 18 still does not trust Freya like that so it’s doubtful that she’s gonna tell Freya about this skill
Was there even a point to adding it when bell already has a skill that deal with charm I mean during volume 18 nearing the end when bell had reached Freya she tried to charm bell which should activated the skill while most of the effects wouldn’t have been needed a stat boost would have doubled his stats compared to what they were after fighting ottar
Instead in the one instance where the skill should have been used it wasn’t
Ppl will say LF and Argo already enough but I’m talking about stuff that helps bell in the very moment of a fight
Which LF does not do it’s effects are after a fight
As for Argo he needs to fully charge it for the best effects and that bell cannot be hit or lose focus which will cause the skill to stop
I don’t think he is op by any means if anything we have only seen that he can withstand clashes with first tiers or powerful monsters in the best of times not overwhelm them
One of these days omori is gonna put him in a situation where is current skills and magic will be rendered useless

Omori did not think it through properly during the development of both MS 18 and SO13
Nor did he and his editors sit down to discuss it in detail
You know upon first seeing I thought it was a dope design and that it’s something welf or Hephaestus( if that’s how her name is spelled) should make for him or at the very least change the exterior of his knife to a sword

I’ve scarcely seen Bell and Finn having a genuine conversation outside of short stories. In fact how many times have Bell and Finn spoke to each other at all it feels like almost never
Unless omori gives bell a skill that allows his familia members to experience unusual growth (not exactly like bells growth but abnormal enough to stand out ) that prospect is looking kinda slim I mean even I thought they both should have been lvl 3 or 4 by now but here we are
Who knows what they will end in once the next arcs get going deeper in the dungeon
I’m just curious because I’m looking for a place to discuss danmachi a bit more with others so I’m curious if the fandom here have one
