I wouldn't be so sure. His new skill Vanaris Tevere will probably come into play, and also the new technique he learned from Leon.
From the few bits we have from SO15, it looks like Bell is actually the only one who can fight that thing.
It wouldn't be the first time that skills and techinques overcome raw stats and level.
Idk, I remember trying to buy MS19 from amazon.jp, but it was being annoying as hell, so I ended up buying it from another seller.
Though it didn't allow copy/paste, so translating was a nightmare (OCR + chatgpt)
I picked "plot armor" because it is the closest to what I have in mind.
There's no time to waste, so Leon & Bell go down immediately while Nina goes back to HF to inform everybody else, and they quickly (few hours/half a day) organize a rescue team, so they can follow right after.
I'd like to see multiple battlefronts, so I hope that Bell joins the "Ais rescue" team (MS21) while the rest fight the corrupted spirit (SO16).
@Chronicler75 I've been wondering about the travel time in the dungeon too. I think this was the reason why Oomori introduced the idea of the elevator.
If I remember correctly, but I really might be wrong, on the first LF expedition in SO, it takes about a week to reach the floor 50, but they were also a big group and they were just going pretty slow.
I guess a small group of high level adventurers could make it to the surface in a couple of days or so. Just speculating, but maybe they could also use vertical holes to climb up.
I didn't read the whole volume 20 plot, so maybe if there's an indication there on how much time has passed between the last day of training and the epilogue would give us a better esitmation. But probably this stuff will be clearly explained in SO15.
There should be 2 more seasons in my mind, if we assume that the story will end in 5-7 volumes from now.
The main issue that I see is that the anime is pretty much cought up with the LN, so we'll have to wait quite a while.
I still think that S5 came out too soon. I'm a bit delusional, but I still hope in a studio change for the last part.
Pretty good for now, but I'd say it could have been a masterpiece if it had 2/3 more episodes.
I hope to see a level 6 Bell too. From his last status update after the first day of training he's very close in terms of stats. So if winning the war game and saving Freya count as a feat, he should meet at least the minimum requirements to level up (D rank stat) by the end of book 20. It wouldn't be a great level in terms of stats, but it feels like it should be done before adventuring in such a risky expedition.
What I'd like to see the most though is Bell taking the lead of the rescue mission, Lili and Hedin cooperate as strategists/commanders and the FF members join him because after all, he earned their respect.
As for Asterius, I don't really see how he can fit organically in all of this. We have to consider both Cassandra's prophecy and the Argonaut story. So it doesn't really feel the right time, but we'll see what Oomori has in mind.
From SO 15.
So apparently, FF means just Hegni :D
I might acually go against many's toughts, but I actually think that the time left is kind of ok.
I remember that back at the time of volume 16, the author said that the story was 70% complete, so I really don't think he's rushing or improvising that much.
I guess people that would like to see a level 10 Bell will be disappointed. I'm pretty sure he will end up being at level 7 just before the final fight.lume 21 or 22.
@Longhatruong Hope she get rekt :D
@AP24 How do you know that she's appearing in Ch2?
Anyway, does anyone have an idea of how SD can face Orario?? We know that the students are at most level 3, and then there's just Leon. So it would be pretty unfair, even if Bell and Lefiya decide to help Leon. Maybe we're going to have a few 1vs1 or something like that. Also the festival talks about "sport", so maybe they're not going to be straight up fights (yeah, this would suck)?
I've seen different opinion on that. Some wanted her dead, other thought it was fair enough.
I personally liked Freya a lot, probably one of the most complex and well written characters. So to me the punishment that she would get in the end does not really matter, as long as it was consistent with everything else.
If she was sent back to heaven, we don't know what would happen to all the high level adventurers of her Familia. So, I guess keeping her around was just to also keep them around as Orario will need them later on. It was the most logical choice.
@Hacked54 It depends on what you want to know. I'm not a light novel reader but I read all the volumes of the main series and sword oratoria up to vol 12. I don't know what you mean by trivial, but I think that in general LN are pretty easy to read, as the english is really basic and there's not much need to concentrate.
I began reading MS after watching the anime. I think it is good because you kind of know how to the story will go, but there's a huge amount of detail and context that will make it much more consistent than the anime version. A lot of things that in the anime are not covered, they are well explained in the books.
If you don't want to reread the same story you saw in the anime, you could with Sword Oratoria. If you saw the anime, don't panic. It's true that it sucks, but it is also true that 50% of the stuff on the big screen is totally made up by JC stuff. SO is a good story, it follows the events of the Loki familia at the same time the main story progesses, and it has bit of a darker tone.
Then if you want really short things, you could go with Astrea Records, the various Familia Chronicles and the short stories collections. I didn't read any of those, so I can't advice you about these.
There are a lot of cut scenes on each arc, I won't go over those it would be very painful.
Anyway, book 8 was cut almost entirely, in particular Welf, Lili and Syr stories, and the whole thing about Rakia. Only the last chapter is adapted, which is the trip to Edas Village, and even that as been twisted by the evil JC staff. This was supposed to happen between season 2 and 3.
Then there's book 15, that follows directly season 4, which is skipped entirerly, besides a scene in ep1 of season 5. And even that has been adjusted.
That said, book 8 and 15 are "light" reads, meaning that they are a collection of stories about each character. But besides that, they also gave some important information and world building.
Adapting all of them would have been hard since there isn't much continuity between each story, but the missing information really hurts the anime watchers.
I'm personally rooting for Ais over everybody else, but even if I had another preference, it would be pretty easy to say that, if Bell takes back his feelings ofr Ais, the whole story would be totally inconsistent and fall apart.
If I remember correctly, they had one level 9, one 8 and "some" (we don't know how many) 7s.
They said they were defeated easily, but there are still pieces of lore that we're missing about the dragon, like its connection to Aria, which could be a key factor.
For now we have the Loki Trio plus Ottar and Leon as level 7, and we can assume that some other level 6 will level up. With Haruhime level boost, they could have 6 level 8s, and that's assuming that Ottar does not level up, which I doubt since he has more than enough stats.
So there's plenty of room for the author to make it a fair fight without massive plot armour.
As for Bell, unless something really crazy happens, I don't see him going past level 7.
EDIT: plus we might see the Xenos join the fight?
To me 3 episodes for book 16 is pretty little. We know we won't get anything from the orphanage part, which is good chunk I guess.
But from the trailer we know that they didn't skip the cathedral and the boat dinner parts.
I'm feeling they're going to go pretty quick on Hedin's training and in general, cut a lot of dialogue.
I feel like the shortest to cover should be book 18. Even though it is the beefiest volume, it is all fights so, knowing JS Staff, I don't think we're getting more than 3-4 episodes of pure fights. I hope they go for quality over quantity this time.
2 chapter titles have been tweeted:
Hero's Afterglow
The Lion and the Sword Princess
I'm not sure about that. If I remember correctly, LN says that the bonus received from leveling up is on a total different plane than the hidden/extra stats.
I think it counts if Bell fights a level 5 opponent that has their level 5 stats close to his, so yes maybe he could take Shakti and Tsubaki. But I don't think he could do anything even against a fresh level 6, like Ryu (I'm not even counting her broken new magic)
I disagree that is the editor's fault, at this point I pretty much believe that is Oomori himself keeping the harem alive just to make "funny" scenes.
Which I mean, once in a while, it is funny, but book 19 was just a collection of those.
Also I don't agree with who says that Bell has to reject all of them. He's not going to reject Hestia, Haruhime, Lili, and many more, just because as right now, they're used every once in a while for this bs, and they will never confess they're true feelings.
At this point, I think even the answer to Ryu has just been delayed too much, if it doesn't happen in book 20, it is going to be very akward and unnatural. Like, they even live under the same roof right now, how long is it possible to keep avoiding the argument? It just smells "bad writing", the same way Aiz was kept out on book 19.
Eina says she wants to get Bell on a dinner, but who knows when and if it is going to happen. Even that, the more is postponed, the more in going to feel very weird.
I think that somehow book 20 is going to fly over all these, we've seen that Oomori is not ashamed of pulling out these shenanigans. The only hope that I have for book 20 is just no other stupid scenes without a resolution. Let's just hope for some good dungeon content and world building.
@Mechaboy 02 I understand that you want to see more world and character development, but this is the pace at which the story always went from the beginning.
The corners he wrote himself into are not that big, and they're mostly based on people's speculations about the strength of the final boss, of which we still have very little information. He will defintely go with its original plan. It might be 2 months more or less, but don't expect a 2/3 year timeskip, that's simply not going to happen.
