Argana Kalif (アルガナ・カリフ) is one of the two captains of the Kali Familia and the older sister of Bache Kalif.
Appearance[]
Argana is a young woman with long, sand-colored hair, brown skin, and a well-endowed body. As an Amazoness, she wears a revealing outfit. She also wears a red skirt like piece of clothing that is made out of a dragon's drop item.
Personality[]
Argana is aggressive and violent, threatening to kill a Njord Familia fisherman simply because he bumped her shoulder, which he didn't know was a sign for a fight to the death in her country. However, rather than due to a volatile temper, her attitude stems from her twisted love for battle, willing and even eager to start a conflict for any reason.
She is a sadistic person who feels intense ecstasy by making her opponents suffer and kill them. She also does not express any remorse for the Amazonesses she has killed over the years. Her lack of guilt for her victims is partly due to her personal beliefs, as she claims that their deaths were necessary for her to become stronger, and she thinks that by dying at her hands they have become part of her.
Said philosophy, however, is not something exclusive to herself; Argana considers it an impartial truth that actually exalts her. In her duel with Tione, she expressed great joy even as the battle turned against her and she drew ever closer to death, excited as she thought that by being killed by Tione both she and her previous victims would become part of the former. She also possesses the unusual habit of tasting the blood of others.
According to her love for battles, Argana shows great excitement when clashing with skilled opponents and she respects power above all else. Likewise, she despises any kind of weakness, be it physical or emotional. Being so, she found the change in Tione upon their reunion in Melen both good and bad, noting that although her combat skills were superior, her character had softened significantly. She was also upset at Knossos that her former student had a hard time taking down a Demi Spirit, considering it a sign of weakness.
Her mentality is exactly the same as her Goddess, Kali. For her part, Tione considers her the very embodiment of Telskyura and all that the country stands for.
Outside of it, Argana does not demonstrate interest in any topic unrelated to combat. Nonetheless, she can show initiative in expanding her knowledge in other areas, though only on the premise that this increases her enjoyment of fighting. She was formerly unable to understand Koine, and mentioned to have learnt it just so she could know what her opponents were saying.
After her defeat against Finn, Argana fell madly in love with him. Bache noted she had changed heavily ever since their encounter. Her infatuation with him has proven to be much more intense than her love for battles, as although she had the chance to face a Demi Spirit she instead focused on finding Finn first. Likewise, her attraction towards him has led her to undergo a drastic change in her attitude and awaken a more feminine side of herself, blushing when asking Tione about his location. She is also quite outspoken and possessive about the Pallum, referring to him as her husband and declaring that he belonged to her.
Nevertheless, Argana still possesses her warrior side with a tendency to approach any matter from a violent perspective which involves fighting. Unable to settle who Finn belonged to, she decided to turn her discussion with Tione into a test of strength, proposing that the one to finish off the Demi Spirit would be his woman.
Abilities[]
Exceptional Physical Prowess: As a Level 6, Bache's physical abilities are all extremely superior to those of a normal person. In terms of raw physical prowess, her abilities are also exponentially superior to those of any Level 5 or below. Despite having ranked up just a bit earlier than Tiona and Tione, she has an advantage over them in terms of raw power due to having been Level 6 longer than them.
Exceptional Strength: Argana is strong enough to destroy the body of a small girl with just the shockwaves from a blow of hers. Despite having absorbed the attack, one of her punches attacks Tione back from the impact and left her arms tingling. Although she managed to mitigate the full force of her attack, her next hit sent her flying through a food stall and created a large crater when she crashed with a wall, as well as made her spit out blood.
Exceptional Durability: In their second duel, Argana's curse drastically reduced her endurance stat, while Tione's strength stat had increased greatly due to her Backdraft skill and her attack power continued to increase due to her Berserk skill. In spite of this, Argana withstood multiple blows from Tione and even one from a high Level 6 Finn strengthened by Hell Finegas that sent her flying several meters.
Exceptional Endurance: Argana showed no concern or discomfort while she was victim of Tione's brutal assault. Even as she continued to spit out more and more blood and be brought closer to the brink of death, Argana continued to laugh and tremble with emotion through the burning pain she felt.
Skilled Warrior: Argana is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, overwhelming Tione in their first battle in Melen. However, her superiority was also partly due to Tione's mind and body being out of sync back then.
She possesses a surprising ability to predict her opponent's movements in the middle of a fight. During their first duel, Argana was already preparing a counterattack before Tione even began her own attack. Additionally, Argana's techniques are more refined than Tione's, giving her an advantage over her former student in that area. Her fighting style and brutality are feared even in Telskyura, which also earned her being the best candidate for captain of her familia years ago.
Enhanced Senses: After acquiring her falna, Argana's senses became much sharper than those of a normal person. Her senses further improved with each subsequent rank up.
Bilingualism: Argana can speak and understand both her native Amazonian language as well as Koine, the common language.
