As an adaptation of the story told in Astraea Record, the novelization is roughly and generally the same as the events portrayed in the Memoria Freese event. However, as a new version of said story, new details and even entire scenes have been added in this novelization. Below is a list of the additions implemented in the third volume of the novel, which covers the original event's third part, as well as the changes made to it.
Differences[]
- During the initial scene, where Orario is shown to be like a ghost city due to the events, an additional line is added. Noir tries to calm down Raul and the others by mentioning that it wasn't as bad as the Zeus and Hera age, where they would fight against the warriors of Horus and Sobek every night.
- Additional details on Ottar's armor for the Great Feud are provided, mentioning his two greatswords, daggers, and the red cloth being Salamander Wool, that resist flames.
- At the moment, it is revealed Ottar was the only one in the ice barrier, and the ambush was launched by the adventurers hiding. Hedin and Hogni were also a part of the scene, with Hedin using Caelus Hildr to attack the Spirit Soldiers, and Hogni using Dainslief and immediately killing one of them.
- The Gulliver Brothers immediately aimed for Basram, who used an Evilus member as a shield, and then used his scepter to call 4 Spirit Soldiers to fight the brothers.
- The Dis Sisters, who had noticed Hedin and Hogni, immediately went after them, starting the battle between them.
- The entire scene only took 17 seconds, but it was enough to wipe out many of the forces on the Freya Familia battlefield.
- Unlike most Spell Keys, the one of Alfia's Satanas Verion, Lugio, is capable of making her magic create an explosion to attack not once but twice.
- Asfi's magic item is an earring accessory that can reduce the effect of shockwaves and abnormal effects like anti-status abilties.
- Alfia was shown to be able to blow away Gareth, along with the girls from Astraea Familia and Ais, using Zald's swordsmanship, even destroying the shield Gareth used to protect them.
- The monster Delpyhne was confirmed to be around Level 6-7.
- The effects of Alfia's Satanas Verion, when its power was released from Silentium Eden, were powerful enough to make the Delphyne scream out in pain, even though she was attacking the Astraea Familia.
- The after effects of the spell could even be felt in Orario, despite being fired in the 18th Floor.
- While there were mentions in the game of Evilus using monsters raised in Knossos, in the novel they also managed to bring Wyverns from the Dragon Valley as well.
- Despite using beastification and all the weapons he had, Ottar still fell after 947 blows, with his armor cracked and all his weapons destroyed, except for a single sword, while the injuries he received were even worse.
- A small scene with Tsubaki, Airmid, Mia, Bete, Fels, Dionysus Familia, and Ishtar Familia showing up to fight off the Evilus members was added.
- Mia is shown to be fighting two Spirit Soldiers, Airmid is healing with Dia Fratel and Filvis is protecting her comrades with Dio Grail.
- In the battle between the Gulliver Brothers and the 4 Spirit Soldiers, each of the brothers calmly analyzed the patterns and moves of the Spirit Soldiers. Admitting their failure in the previous battle, instead of doing one on one with each Spirit Soldier they chose to do four on one for each Spirit Soldier to take them down. With their cooperative skills, that were known to be able to beat any first class adventurer if the four of them were together, they started to fight back the Spirit Soldiers.
- However, it was mainly a bluff, as Alfrigg used the opportunity to sneak up on Basram using the smoke from a magic attack as a cover, and cut his arm that held the staff, to break his control over the Spirit Soldiers. The moment that happened, the Spirit Soldiers froze, which gave the other 3 brothers the chance to attack and finish them off.
- Basram, who was cornered, tried to turn himself into a Spirit Soldier with a dagger, however, he was simply mocked by the Gulliver Brothers, and was quickly killed before he could do anything.
- The scene switches to Hogni and Hedin's battle, where it is revealed they are already fairly injured, while the Dis sisters smile and continue their assault on the two.
- With the power of Dina's curse, Diaval Stige, that they activate at the inital parts of the scene, the Dis Sisters were able to increase their Statuses, without needing to worry about the cost of transferring their halved Basic Abilties as they would simply be transfered to the other. Due to the effects, Dina, who specialized in close combat, would have her strength and agility doubled, while the endurance and magic she lost would go to Vena, who was more of a mage type among the two, making their abilties Level 6 tier rather than Level 5.
- Off-screen Hedin and Hogni have taken severe damage from the sisters; Hedin's glasses are broken from the repeated attacks and Dainsleif was also released. The two, while wanting to murder the Dis Sisters, cannot work together well in comparsion to them, due to the nature of how they have fought in the Freya Familia up until now. However, they know Ottar has won, and the city is currently fighting back with all its strength, which gives them the push to abadon their pride for now.
- Until this point Hedin had been fighting Vena and Hogni had been fighting Dina, but they decided to switch their opponents. However, they are still pushed back by the sisters through close combat and magic, as Hedin does not have as much close combat ability as Hogni, nor does Hogni have the range of Hedin, so they cannot handle the sisters even by switching. Their weapons are knocked away as the sisters' assualt continues.
- Finally, Vena decides to use her third magic, and as she casted, she noticed Hedin making an odd stance, wondering if he had picked up his rhompaia. However, what he had in his hands was not his usual rhompaia but Hogni's cursed sword, revealing that they dropped their weapons on purpose. Hedin used its special trait to extend the sword's reach as far as possible, piercing Vena's chest and forcing an Ignis Fatuus.
- Angered, Dina charged at Hedin, only to be met by Hogni, wielding the rhompaia, while Hedin chants. Dina assumes it would be Caelus Hildr, to avoid hitting Hogni, inwardly thinking that the current her can dodge it with her agility enhanced. But Hedin chose to fire Varian Hildr, his more wide ranged spell, hitting both Hogni and Dina, who had her endurance reduced by the curse. Unlike Dina, Hogni could bear the pain, and attack her even while being affected himself. Unlike the Dis Sisters, Hedin and Hogni do not have cooperativeness but they know each other well enough to do this.
- Hogni dealt the final blow, beheading Dina as she proclaimed she loved him. Vena, who had noticed her sister's decapitated head, shrieked, seeing the ugly state of her sister, and went insane, saying this wasn't her sister, as she looked around asking for her sister. As she grabbed onto Hedin's clothes, Hedin lost his temper, shouting all sorts of curses towards Vena before killing her with Varian Hildr.
- As the Evilus forces are panicking from the defeat of Apate and Alecto Familias, the Artemis Familia arrives to the scene fighting off the Evilus members on the walls. One of the members asked if it was ok to abandon helping out the world powers, but Artemis said they can leave that to the School District and the Knight of Knights as they have more fighting power and people with them.
- Artemis privately wonders if what will happen will be the second coming of the Ancient Era or the prelude to Maquia.
- After Zald's defeat, it was shown that Ottar's last attack had destroyed his armor and revealed his skin, which was mostly corrupted from the Behemoth's poison, and he coughed out black blood as he tried to speak before dying.
- In the game, Finn was only said to defeat Apate and Alecto Familia's remaining forces on his way to confront Valletta. In the novel, it was clarified this group included the remaining strong forces from Alecto Familia and 4 Spirit Soldiers, who he killed with clear skill and techniques.
- While most factions tend to hide the information they give to the Guild regarding their Familia. The Zeus and Hera Familias fully cooperated with them, handing over their records of the floors they had reached due to their relationship with Ouranos, though they found it troublesome. The information was about their members' statuses and abilities, how to get development abilties, and even a growth model for statuses, which became a foundation for today's Orario.
- According to Finn, he had asked for the information of Zeus and Hera Familias after they had fell 8 years ago, and was stunned by the results as all of the members had exceptional abilities.
- Zald was noted to be top-class among them due to his ability, Deus Ambrosia.
- Lyra later reveals that she was aware of Alfia's third magic because she was told by Finn in advance.
- Alfia's skill is revealed to be called Gif Blessing. It allows her to be in a Limit Off state in combat, in exchange for a decrease in all abilities, and multiple abnormal effect such as paralysis and poison, with the effects accelerating as time passes on. By the time Alfia starts coughing up blood, her ability is estimated to be around Level 5 or even Level 4.
- Despite being that weakened, she still manages to fight off the Astraea Familia, who charge at her with a renewed passion.
- Alfia's third magic, Genos Angelos, is revealed to call a large gray-silver bell as she chants, with the bell cracking as the spell is released.
- The power of the spell being chanted is enough for the Astraea members to freeze up and even the Delpyhne trembles.
- As the bell explodes, it was noted to be able to destroy anything within a 100 meters area, and even blew off the earrings with just the inital shocks.
- Lyra runs right ahead and uses the shield Aegis to negate it with the copied Silentium Eden she had acquired a few hours ago during the battle.
- During the battle with Delphyne, as Astraea Familia joins in, Riveria uses her third stage attack magic, Vas Windheim, which is noted to be able to overturn the difference in levels and exposes its core. Ais finishes it off once the core is exposed with Avenger-Ariel.
- During the Extra Story scene with Zald, Alfia and Erebus, minor additional details are added about the relationship between the characters
- Zald and Alfia are noted to have a sort of niece and uncle relationship, with Zald watching his words when speaking about Bell's father to avoid upsetting Alfia as much as possible, though she was still looking at him with a ice- cold gaze, as she considered Bell's father to be trash, for touching her sister.
- While Zald considered Bell's father to be hopelessly weak, and quick to run away, he still considers Bell's father to be like a little brother to him, remembering his smile.
