Behind the Special Training (特訓の裏側で) is a special short story given to those who purchased volume 6 of DanMachi in Animate.
The story was later adapted in Memoria Freese to promote the second episode of the second season of the anime.
Summary[]
Bell was having dinner with Ais and Tiona atop the wall of Orario after finishing his training for the day. The Amazoness suggested they took a bath and went to bed early since they had to get up early the next day.
After finishing eating, and bathing in a living space with a shower located in the wall, Bell said he would go sleep in a corner, but both girls stopped him and insisted that they slept together.
Bell lay down feeling the warmth of both girls by his sides. However, even though his eyes were closed he was unable to sleep. Suddenly he felt a knife being thrown towards him and he rolled with all his strength to dodge it.
Seeing this, Ais and Tiona nodded satisfied. That was also part of his training so that he could avoid attacks while sleeping. However, Tiona questioned Ais about its usefulness since that was for the monsters in the dungeon, but useless in a War Game since one did not have to worry about such things, leaving her shocked.
As the two chatted, Bell wondered if he would really be able to endure this as he was overcome by anxiety. It was still his first day of training.
