Dine (ディーネ) was an ally of Fulland and is a character in DanMachi Fulland of Water and Light.
Appearance[]
Dine had purple eyes and long blue hair that reached below her waist. She wore a white dress adorned with several diamond-shaped blue stones scattered throughout it. Her outfit was complemented by white boots as well as a necklace and a headband of the same color.
Personality[]
Dine was very fond of Fulland and Belinda and learned many things from them.
History[]
The tale Fulland of Water and Light narrates that during the Ancient Times Dine met Fulland, with whom she allied to confront the monsters that emerged from the dungeon. Although he swore his love to her when they met, Fulland began to doubt whether to stay with her or go with Belinda, a saint who had loved him since long before and had continued to support him. In the end, Fulland ended up choosing Belinda.
Maddened with love, Dine tried to kill Fulland, but in the end she gave up and chose to save him from a monster, losing her life in the process. Saddened, Fulland embraced her corpse and mourned more than anyone else, building a cathedral in her honor, Saint Fulland's Cathedral.
While it is said that her body remains protected in the cathedral, there is uncertainty regarding what truly happened to her after her death, which led to various versions of her fate. There is a belief that her body remained beautiful inside her coffin as if she were sleeping, others believe that it turned into glass and then crumbled into countless fragments, and there is even a story that her body turned into a sword known as the Sword of the Spirit.
It is also said that Dine never revealed her name to Fulland. Her reasons for not doing so are unknown.
