Goll (ゴォール) was the captain of the Goll Knights and is a character in DanMachi ~Memoria Freese~. He is Noir's past life.
Appearance[]
Goll was a slim man with gray beard and mustache, wearing an eyepatch to cover his injured eye. As a high ranking member of the Goll Knights, he was required to wear a black hood.
Personality[]
Goll was initially a kind and noble knight that cared about protecting people more than anything. As he didn't care about one's social class or race, he was able to become friends with the Pallum McCool as well as other members of the Goll Knights from different races.
Due to being her father's killer, he had a strained relation with Fianna, which only further worsened over the years when he became jealous of her status as a hero. His obsession made him believed that killing Fianna would restore his "passion".
After being defeated by the Fianna Knights and convinced by Lazar, he returned to his honorable self, willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of people.
History[]
In his youth, Goll had the dream of becoming a hero and pledged his service to king Cormac to achieve his dream. During his service, he became friends with fellow knight McCool.
When the king made a mistake which almost caused his kingdom's collapse McCool was forced to take the blame, while Goll was ordered to kill him.
At some point after the Goll Knights were formed he took in Lazar. When the people of the kingdom decided to praise Fianna and her knights as their heroes instead, Goll realized his dream of becoming a hero was gone, and decided to side with Cormac to end her.
