Chapter 1[]
Chapter 2[]
In the aftermath of her battle with Filvis, Lefiya would continue training with Bete and once accompanied him into the Dungeon where Lena interrupted. When not training with him, she would spend her time doing magic training even though Riveria would tell her to rest. To escape from Elegia, Lefiya went on a small expedition; she wanted to go into the Dungeon alone but others went with her because they were worried. She then took a whole one day off during the Goddess Festival but later went on another expedition. When she returned, a War Game between Hestia Familia and Freya Familia was announced. Bell's victory in the War Game and him becoming Level 5 caused Lefiya to want to go into the Dungeon more often. Lefiya's overworking made her lose weight, so she ate meat which elves don't like, and her chest got bigger as a result.
Two months after Filvis' death, Lefiya was given the task to be an instructor at the School District that was going to arrive in Orario in 3 days. She was considered the best choice as she was a graduate from there. During this time, Familias would try to recruit students to join their Familias in the future. After all, the original reason for building the school was to gather talented people around the world for Orario. Lefiya is considered the best achievement in the history of the school. She was also forbidden from going into the Dungeon and training with Bete.
The School District is the largest ship in the world with 700 meter diameter and a crew of about 10,000. The ship is named Hringhorni and is able to float thanks to 500 buoyancy generators, which are also used in Babel, attached to the bottom of ship that are powered by magic stones, and use a propulsion device also powered by magic stones. Melen served as the port for the ship when it came to Orario. The ship stayed off shore because of its size and used a large bridge to connect the port. The ship would often get attacked by aquatic monsters and become involved in international conflicts as it traveled the world. Lefiya was often deployed to deal with these, which allowed her to rank up the first time. The reason why the ship came back every 3 years was for regular inspection and repair. Originally, the ship was a sea fortress for the subjugation of the Leviathan, in which it played an important role along with the Poseidon Familia.
When Loki and Lefiya arrived, they received a huge welcome by many of the students. Alisa served as their guide and escorted them to Baldr, who was Lefiya's previous god. His appearance made him look like more of a god compared to others. He could tell that Lefiya had changed. Many students wanted to be adventurers, so practicing in the dungeon was one of the things students did. Lefiya was asked to be in charge of one of the parties. She would stay with the School District for about half a month. Loki left after business was concluded. Once Lefiya and Alisa were alone, they acted like girls their age who had reunited.
The school operated with the support of a number of Familias. Baldr served as principal, but there was no hierarchy between Familias. Each Familia was referred to as Class at the school. Alisa was two years older and she was Lefiya's roommate and best friend. They were both in Baldr Class together. Alisa's fighting ability was inferior even to Lefiya's, but she was talented in alchemy. She was a prefect and aiming to be a teacher. The teachers were equivalent to a Familia captain or executives, while prefects were equivalent to executive candidates like Loki Familia's second string members. The "LFC" is a fan club for one of the teachers, Leon, and Alisa is the president. She aimed to be a teacher because she fell for her teacher and wanted to get closer to him. Alisa then mentioned that Bell had invaded the School District before. They then talked about Lefiya's fame around the world. Alisa mentioned that Lefiya had changed but Lefiya was not sure what about her has changed.
Intermission[]
Wishe Forest was an elf village located within the Great River of Forests that spread out in the center of the continent. The village was a popular stop for many merchants and travelers of different races who were traveling throughout the continent. Many elf forests guarded holy trees and followed their clan’s teaching of drawing boundary with the outside world, but it wasn’t the case for Wishe Forest’s clan. The founder named Wishe, who had great magic power among the clan, interacted with people of other races and saw the outside world. Wishe was one of the 3 Great Poets who left their name in distant past. She was quite a wild elf who didn’t like the common elf’s custom and would advocate other elves to see the world in her poetry. The elves who admired her took back the forest where she was born from the monsters that overran it and build a village named after her there. Everyone in the village followed her teachings and became interested in the outside world.
Lefiya had always been an elf who was kind and friendly to people of other races due to being born on Wishe Forest. She wanted to see the outside world after often hearing stories told by travelers and receiving souvenirs from villagers who came back from traveling outside. She would often go to her secret spot which was her “secret flower garden”. While sitting on a fallen tree trunk, she often read picture books about the outside world in front of Wishe Forest’s Great Holy Tree that was famous for making the “Crown of Light” bloom. She was always unsure on when she should leave the village and would look at the Great Holy Tree while hoping for something to happen that would push her to travel outside the village.
When Lefiya was 8 years old, she heard from a merchant that the School District arrived at a port town south of the village. She was told anyone of any race from the ages of 6 to 18 can be admitted. It didn’t require large admission fee and only needed the will to learn. Lefiya wanted to know the outside world and and to search for who she wanted to be, and so the School District that traveled around the world was the perfect start for her. She decided to go to the School District to take the entrance exam. Lefiya’s golden yellow haired mother and azure eyed father were sad at first but were happy for her and told her she could come back anytime. During her departure day, the villagers came to see her off and so did the Great Holy Tree by creating a circle of light. When Lefiya left, she was certain that no matter what happened she would never forget this “elf ring”.
Lefiya traveled to the port town with a merchant and entered the School District along with many applicants. The School District didn’t have a fixed curriculum which students could graduate whenever they wanted. It traveled around around world and whenever it stopped by somewhere, it would recruit new students and those who decided it was time to graduate would leave there. The purpose of the School District was to help students search for their desired path in life. Students became stronger and were able to handle most things by themselves after spending time there. Once the gods and teachers acknowledged that there were no problems, students were allowed to graduate anytime even as fast as 3 months. When Lefiya applied, there were only 6 open spots available out of the 1200 applicants. The entrance exam was an interview during which Lefiya talked about her desire to see the outside world and to search for what she wanted to become. Her answer was well received and later that night she was informed by Baldr that she passed. After receiving her school uniform and falna, she became a student of the School District.
Lefiya, who was assigned to Baldr Class, was introduced to her classmates starting with her roommate Alisa. She was then introduced to another classmate of same age as Alisa named Verdine, a cow-person (bulls) who was a problem student who often broke school rules and was hated by female classmates for making comments about big breasts. Nassen was a pallum who had so much knowledge that he could be called a genius, but he was not an honor student due to his unfriendly nature and often caused incidents with his intellectual curiosity. Despite Lefiya not aiming for combat work in the future, the four of them were in the same combat squad.
Verdine would often get the group caught up in fights with monsters and other people. They also talked about trivial things and one day Alisa told Lefiya about how she fell in love with Leon who was their teacher and joining the LFC. Alisa also asked Lefiya what she wanted to become in the future. Alisa wanted to become a teacher and Leon’s right hand, Verdine wanted to become a knight in the Empire, and Nassen wanted to become a researcher in Altena. Lefiya continued her studies, saw the world and interacted with many people, but still hadn’t decided what she wanted to be. After 3 years in the School District and dragged around often by Verdine and others, Lefiya became Level 2. Around that time, the School District visited Orario which was the first time Lefiya’s been there.
Chapter 3[]
The next morning after arriving at the School District, Lefiya was walking down a corridor alongside the head teacher and leader of Baldr Class, Leon. His lessons were easy to understand and he often consulted with students if they had any troubles. He was the most popular teacher in the School District and his popularity spread to the entire world too. Lefiya was worried if she could teach other people, but Leon said she should remember those who had taught her and use them as reference. The students were in high demand for small and medium size Familias, but even so it was difficult for them to join a major Familia. One of the most difficult was Goibniu Familia as unlike Hephaestus Familia, they tended to hide from the world. Last time the School District visited Orario, the students of the blacksmith department admired Goibniu's skills and applied to the Familia but were all rejected after failing a task given by the god. Loki Familia was also very difficult to join because Loki, who didn't like Baldr, would reject recommendations from the School District and would only accept anyone she was personally interested in.
Lefiya was brought to a room that had 4 students waiting there. Students who wanted to have work in combat would form a team of 4 people. Lefiya would be in charge of the 7th squad which had two Level 3's. Natalinoe Cladfield, nicknamed Nano, was a Level 3 female human smaller than Lefiya and had strawberry blond fluffy hair with a childish impression. Luke was a Level 3 human male who had ash colored hair and could be said to be handsome, though he spoke few words. The remaining two were a female elf named Mililia and a male beast person named Cole. Lefiya thought it was amazing to reach Level 3 while still in the School District. Luke replied it was because he had been there for 5 years and was older than Lefiya. During the rest of the meeting, Luke gave Lefiya a cold look. The 7th squad of Baldr Class consisted of high-ranking students in the combat skills department. In the past, the students assigned to this squad just happened to end up being the best team and because it happened often, the squad ended up being called the elite unit.
In Leon's office, Alisa talked about how Luke was being cheeky in front of Lefiya who was his senior. Luke, who was the squad leader, is not really a problem student and actually produced excellent grades. But, there was a part of him that could be destructive in the future. Lefiya was asked to be in charge of the 7th squad because the words of an adventurer would mean more to them. It was also because doing this could help Lefiya, though she didn't understand what that meant. The next day, Lefiya began her duty as instructor by checking the squad members abilities in preparation for the dungeon practice that was gonna happen in two days later. Nano was a mage in the rear, Mililia was an archer in the middle, Cole was a knife-user who acted as a scout, and Luke was a strong person in the front. The students from the combat skills department were having a session in the training arena. Squads from Baldr and Var Classes were having mock battles and Lefiya was watching the 7th squad's performance overwhelming their opponent. Luke's swordsmanship was the best among students and he led his squad very well. Nano's magic was like an extra large artillery weapon. Mililia and Cole were very good at supporting the two Level 3's in the front and back.
Nano was the same age as Luke and older than Lefiya. She was from a noble family and when Luke, her childhood friend from the same hometown, applied to the School District she followed him without telling her parents. Nano seemed to have a crush on Luke and asked Lefiya not to seduce him. Mililia was much more approachable compared to other elves due to her upbringing in the School District. Cole was a kind and honest werewolf and someone who always worried about their group like Raul. Luke asked Lefiya to show her magic, which she released in a corner of the training area. Seeing this caused many students in the area to ask Lefiya for some lectures which she gave, and seeing this causes Luke became dismayed. Later in her own room, she organized the information she had gathered and thought about how to proceed next.
Dungeon Practice was a curriculum that only happened when the School District returned to Orario every 3 years. Students were tasked to bring back the required monster drop items from the Dungeon and submit reports in order to earn their credits. On the day the Dungeon Practice began, Lefiya and the 7th squad were in the Dungeon. On top of their school battle uniform, each member of the squad wore different equipment. Nano wore a hooded robe and wielded a long staff. Mili wore a side breast armor and wielded a long bow. Cole wore a pair of goggles and wielded two short swords. Luke wore a personally modified battle uniform and wielded a long sword. At the moment they were on the 15th floor, which was as far as the other students were allowed to go, but the 7th squad under Lefiya's care had permission to reach 18th floor during the curriculum period. Luke wanted to go to 25th floor because he had explored the Cave Labyrinth the last time, but Lefiya wouldn't allow it because it was too early for them to explore the Lower Floors and too dangerous for people who had never been there before.
Luke became angry because adventurers like Lefiya were taking things easily while the world outside Orario was suffering so much damage from being attacked by monsters. Monster attacks had been increasing every year and the dragons from Dragon Valley had caused the most damage. Luke had seen many tragedies as students and teachers from the School District had been requested to provide aid. Lefiya now understood that Luke was dissatisfied with Orario's adventurers for still being unable to save the world. Since the adventurers were being slow, Luke decided to be a hero that saved the people. But this gave Lefiya all the more reason not to let him do what he wanted since his self-sacrificial nature made him someone who could die fast. His desire would also put his companions in danger. Lefiya had wondered why Nano, who was not much into battle, was able to become a Level 3, but now she knew it was because Nano had always went along with Luke's recklessness, putting herself in danger while supporting him. Lefiya asked if Luke ever considered the possibility of other people dying due to his actions. Luke replied he would just do things alone, but being alone in the Dungeon was no longer allowed.
Luke wouldn't listen to what others said and so Lefiya proposed that they duel. The first one to land a hit would be the winner and the loser would have to obey the winner. The others would keep an eye for monsters. Luke charged at Lefiya with his sword while Lefiya defended herself with Filvis' short sword. Lefiya was a higher level, but even if she had started learning swordsmanship, Luke was far better in close combat skills. Despite this, none of Luke's attacks could reach Lefiya because she was still superior in strength, speed, technique, and tactics. Luke's attacks were also not scary enough for Lefiya who has experience facing against Bete and Ais' attacks. Lefiya then used concurrent chanting and fired Arcs Ray to knock Luke's sword away from his hand, thus winning the duel. Even if their levels were the same, Lefiya probably would have still won due to her overwhelming experience. Lefiya said Luke would now have to obey her as he was in shock from disbelief.
Mord's group then appeared and pulled off a pass parade on Lefiya and the 7th squad. The students were confused at first but then prepared for battle. Lefiya handled the monsters on the back while the students handled the ones on the front. Lefiya used close combat skills to kill the monsters while doing concurrent chanting. The 7th squad members were not doing well because Luke, who was the core of the party, was not giving his best due to still being affected by his duel with Lefiya earlier. Lefiya eventually used Alicia's magic to put an end to the battle. Alicia's hometown was the White Ice Forest Fanache located in the northern part of the continent and her specialty was freezing magic. Hail Dust was a wide area magic attack that fired magic bullets that froze targets in all directions. It had less power and range than Fusillade Fallarica but was very versatile. The magic froze all of the remaining monsters and killed them.
After the battle was over, Lefiya gave advice to everyone on how to improve next time. She told Luke not to be in a hurry to die since his death would endanger the rest of his party and make them sad. She also said they would get stronger together and that he didn't have to keep any dissatisfaction to himself because no matter what she would properly guide him. Lefiya's words and her reaching out her hand while smiling caused Luke to blush.
Intermission[]
When the School District came back to Orario three years ago, it was also the first time Lefiya and Alisa came to Orario. The School District had been welcomed by the places it visited but the two girls had never seen so many people gathered to welcome the flying ship when it docked at the port town Melen. Nassen had been in Orario before when the School District came back the previous time and wanted to go to a ramen shop in Melen that he liked. The School District came back to Orario every three years for maintenance and repair, and its stay in Melen was the longest compared to in other places. Sometimes it could take half a year or a year, and this time it was the longest which took 1.5 years. Most students hometown were Melen and Orario which was why so many people gathered to welcome the School District. Many students became adventurers in Orario, and so a “graduation ceremony” was held around this time. Graduation to be adventurers would be held after completing special training in the dungeon.
Students were banned from entering Orario shortly after the School District’s arrival at Melen. After the ban was lifted, Lefiya’s group went into the dungeon immediately. As a Lv2, Lefiya was able to defeat monsters in the Upper Floors like Kobold and Goblins with single blows. After finished exploring the dungeon they would have discussions in the cafeteria. The 7th squad was astounding largely due to Lefiya who had outstanding magic power even within the School District. It was also due to instructions made by Nassen who had great insight despite being Lv1. Alisa said Lefiya was suited to be an adventurer, which was how Lefiya started to think about the profession.
One day, Alicia and Aki came to the School District. Loki was on bad terms with Baldr, and so Loki Familia never went to recruit graduates from the School District before. But after being asked many times by the guild to do so, Loki finally gave in. When Alicia and Aki were exploring the School District, they met Lefiya in the library. On an empty terrace, they talked about Lefiya being part of the elite 7th squad though she said it was more of a squad filled with problem students. Lefiya then asked why Orario’s adventurers were more focused on exploration and research on the dungeon was not carried out much. Alicia answered that it was because adventurers sought wealth, fame, dreams or ambitions. Some adventurers such as those from a high-ranking faction like Loki Familia were seeking strength in order to complete the Three Great Quests. In addition, reaching the deepest floor of the dungeon could unravel its mystery.
Lefiya then asked if it was weird for her to become an adventurer. Aki replied that even though Lefiya was a talented elf, she shouldn’t become an adventurer if someone told her she should. There were many hardships in becoming an adventurer, so Lefiya shouldn’t become one unless she truly wanted to. Alicia added that it was okay to take interest and making mistakes, as long as the mistakes could still be undone. If Lefiya was within reach, Alicia would give advice to her and correct her as much as possible. Alicia was probably the first adventurer that Lefiya admired, and since then Lefiya began to think more seriously on her career path.
One day, Lefiya was in a cafe named Wishe, which was run by a man named Wale who was originally from Wishe village like her. Hedin was also there as a customer and offered Lefiya to join Freya Familia but Wale was against it because the familia was too dangerous. Lefiya possessed good magic power so Hedin asked Lefiya to think about joining. After Hedin left, Lefiya couldn’t believe she was being scouted by a first-tier adventurer and became more conscious of the existence known as adventurers.
Few days later, Lefiya decided to give a try on being an adventurer and asked Leon for advice. Leon looked like a knight from his posture and the way he treated other people, and he was probably Lefiya’s first love. He advised Lefiya to continue looking for answer as far as possible, and she would find her answer the moment her heart trembled. In the next dungeon training, Verdine wanted to see the 18th floor and was on his way there together with other students who were also interested. Students from School District were only allowed to go as far as 15th floor, so Lefiya along with Alisa followed them to try stop them. It was during this that Lefiya had a deep understanding of what an adventure was.
Chapter 4[]
Everyday for the next few days, Lefiya goes to the Dungeon with the 7th squad and holds a lecture for them after they return to the School District. Luke still aims to help people around the world, but is no longer rushing like before and is paying good attention to Lefiya's lectures. Nano and the others also have come to respect Lefiya more. One day, she is holding a seminar for many more students in an auditorium. She answers many questions about adventurers, Orario, the dungeon, and other things. After the seminar ends, Leon thinks that Lefiya has what it takes to be a teacher. Lefiya has been doing a lot of reviews and explaining them to the students, which is like learning how to do preparation of tactics that Finn and Riveria are the best at within Loki Familia. She thinks her experience could help her in future battles.
The day after the seminar, Nano shows up in front of Lefiya teary-eyed and calls her a thieving cat for seducing Luke. Nano believes Luke has fallen for Lefiya as his eyes have been on Lefiya lately. Nano thinks Luke is a cool person and so would also get angry if Lefiya doesn't respond to Luke's feelings. Nano also says it's not surprising because Lefiya is a beautiful and noble elf. Hearing it makes Lefiya realize that what everyone is looking at is actually Filvis whose image is what Lefiya has been chasing after. Lefiya believes it is still not enough because Filvis was stronger and more beautiful. Back at Loki Familia's home, Tione and Tiona are wondering if Lefiya is doing fine and ask Loki why she sent Lefiya to the School District. Loki replies Lefiya needs a mirror that shows her that she has become a stubborn person who won't listen to others. Ais is worried that Lefiya won't be herself anymore. Loki then adds the biggest reason she sent Lefiya to the School District is so that Lefiya will remember her origin.
The 7th squad has grown in the past week and so now they are going on a small expedition to reach the 18th floor. In front of the guild headquarters, they encounter a male student who is a Hume Bunny who lets out a short scream when he sees Lefiya. He has a round tail on his waist, long ears, and brown hair with bangs often hiding his eyes. Lefiya feels like she has seen him before. The hume bunny named Rapi averts his eyes and then leaves with his squad when being called by a female half-elf named Nina. Mililia and Cole tell Lefiya that the group of students that they saw was Baldr Class' 3rd squad, which is the worst party. Nano says the squad leader, Nina, is a good girl who works hard, smarter than her, and still 13 years old. Luke says that rather than a group of failing students, the 3rd squad members don't work together very well. The squad became a party of five after a new person recently joined. Lefiya gets the impression that the hume bunny is someone capable.
After completing procedures at the guild, Lefiya and the 7th squad are now on the 15th floor. The students are fighting the monsters on their own without Lefiya helping. Nano, whose position is in the rear, has learned to manage the party and be more assertive. Luke also has learned to move back to the middle and switch positions with Cole and Mililia. Lefiya is pleased with their growth but she has a bad feeling about the Dungeon today. Suddenly, hundreds of Bad Bats spawn all at once, and as a result, the ceiling above collapses. The collapse of the area has caused the group to be separated. Loki Familia then receive news that multiple floors around the 15th floor have collapsed and two squads are trapped there. Loki orders her Familia members to go help.
Lefiya and Luke got separated from Nano and the others after escaping from the collapsed area. Lefiya asks if the 7th squad had experienced a collapse before and Luke replies that they had in Teleses, southwest of the continent. The whole ruin there collapsed but they waited for rescue and survived. Lefiya thinks Nano and the others probably won't fall into panic as long as they remember basic countermeasures. The problem is Lefiya saw the floor collapsing before she and Luke escaped from the collapsed area, and so Nano and the others most likely fell into a lower floor. Luke is frustrated at Lefiya for being calm even after what happened. Lefiya replies it's because losing composure won't change the situation and will only exhaust you. She also has to put up a bold front so that her junior doesn't lose composure too and have some piece of mind. After Luke calms down, Lefiya tells him that although he has a tendency to be hot-headed, she doesn't hate the way he worries for his friends. Lefiya saying this while smiling causes Luke to blush.
Lefiya knows their current location but they are far from the passage connecting to the next floor. They won't escape through Knossos because it is supposed to be a secret and the door to it is too far. They also don't have a key to Knossos and it is meaningless to escape anyway because they need to find Nano and others. Because it was supposed to be a small expedition where they had planned to camp on the floor, they prepared more food and water than usual. It is fortunate that Lefiya is carrying half and Nano, who also serves as a supporter, is carrying the other half, but Lefiya and Luke believe they need to find the others within half a day. There are other people who might have gotten caught in the collapse, but Lefiya tells Luke that their own group must be prioritized. Lefiya then asks Luke what Nano and the others would do in this situation. Luke replies that after meeting Lefiya, what Nano and others would do is going to a lower floor instead of staying and wait for rescue. Lefiya believes Nano and others can still move due to Mililia having healing magic and will head towards the 18th floor, so she and Luke head there too.
Meanwhile, Nano and others have just treated their injuries. Though the bleeding has stopped, Cole is still injured on his head and right eye area which won't be healed until they get back to the surface. Cole used first-aid by himself in order to preserve items. They are on the 16th floor and plan on heading towards the 18th floor. In Luke's absence, Mililia, who is second-in-command of the 7th squad, is leading them. They are going to move as a party of three with Nano moving to the front in order to save use of magic. Nano pulls out an iron ball with connecting chain from her backpack and connects it to her staff, which forms a flail-type morning star. Nano says Leon taught her some self-defense moves but Mililia replies Nano is stupid since a mage like her chose such weapon for self-defense. Once Cole determines which way is the safest, they begin their adventure.
Chapter 5[]
In the School District's principal's office, Baldr, Leon, and Alisa have heard about what just happened. Leon leaves for Orario to help with the situation. Baldr is glad that Lefiya and "him" are in the squads that are still trapped. In the Dungeon, Lefiya and Luke are able to continue moving forward by destroying blocked paths. Lefiya first uses Rea Laevateinn as a radar to detect any person or monster nearby, and once she knows it's safe, she uses Double Canon of Arcs Ray and Wynn Fimbulvetr to open a hole in a blocked path and immediately freeze the rocks in the hole to prevent a cave-in. Luke is amazed seeing Lefiya using three different magics in quick succession several times. They're looking for a pit that drops to a lower floor so that they can head to the 18th floor faster. They can't create a hole to a lower floor because they can't risk someone below getting hit by Lefiya's magic, or be caught in a cave-in, and Rea Laevateinn can't detect anyone below or above.
Lefiya and Luke are already on the 16th floor but it's been half a day since the 7th squad entered the Dungeon. Luke wonders if it's okay to let Lefiya handle everything by herself. Suddenly, Lefiya asks Luke if he likes her because it would be troubling if he confesses in the middle of the Dungeon. Luke, while embarrassed, strongly denies this. Lefiya, after seeing Luke's reaction, says that he's probably feeling better now. She tells him that he doesn't have to feel bad about not helping much because it's normal for instructors to do so much for their students. After continuing walking for a while, Luke finally understands how scary the Dungeon can be. Lefiya tells him that if it weren't for her Familia, she would have died over fifty times. She also tells him that he should pass on what he's learned to other people so that more people can be saved, and so that he won't lose someone important. Luke notices that Lefiya is saying it with empty eyes that are not looking at him, which causes him to ask if she had let someone die. Lefiya replies that she had killed that person with her own hands. Luke then thinks that Lefiya is sometimes scary and not the person that Nano and others idolized. After Lefiya's eyes look the same as before again, Luke decides not to think about it anymore and won't let her be alone.
Nano, Mililia, and Cole are currently being chased by monsters that are too many for them to fight. As a hunter, Mililia excels in using a bow and she has good Dexterity and Agility in her status. Though her magic power is weaker than pure mages like Nano, she excels in chanting. Thanks to Lefiya's teaching, Mililia is able to perform concurrent chanting while running despite still being a Level 2. After she finishes chanting, she touches various parts in the Dungeon while running. The places she touches have small magic circles, as if she is planting seeds there. She then activates her binding magic "Silver Vine", in which magical lights in the shape of vines come out of the magic circles she planted and restrain the monsters they catch. The group of students then turn around and attack the trapped monsters. Mililia fires three arrows at once from her bow and Cole attacks with his shortswords. Nano's Morning Star-type weapon is the School District Alchemy Department's invention called the "Magic Star Hammer". When she channels magic power into her weapon, the iron ball becomes a bigger ball of light with magic spikes coming out of it. With her Level 3 strength, she swings her weapon and the monsters that got hit by the ball get killed. Mililia pulls out her arrows she shot from the monsters, but sometimes her arrows would break, and she only has 5 arrows that can still be used.
Nano and the others are now on the 17th floor, but it's already been a day since the 7th squad entered the Dungeon. They are about to reach their limit now that they have only one potion, half of magic potion, no food, and little water left. Normally Level 2 adventurers can do activities in a Dungeon for a day without re-supply, but it's different for inexperienced students in this irregular situation. Mililia takes the last potion and Nano takes the remaining magic potion. They continue to move and finally reach the area with the Big Wall of Grief. However, the Goliath has already spawned when they arrive.
A party of upper-tier adventurers got trapped in the dungeon and were heading towards the 18th floor too. They arrived at the area with the Big Wall of Grief before Nano's group did and are currently fighting the Goliath which shouldn't have spawned until two days later. One of the party members is Mord, who did a Pass Parade on the 7th squad before, and he asks Nano's group for help fighting the Goliath. Nano wants to help because as a School District student she doesn't want to abandon people who are in trouble, even in the Dungeon. Lefiya would help those people and Nano wants to become an adventurer that can proudly face Lefiya. Nano's words are able to convince Cole and Mililia, and it's also because they have no choice but to fight to reach the safety point.
Nano uses Zarga Yale which kills many of the monsters nearby and partly damages the Goliath. Mililia is given more arrows from Mord's party and uses them to kill the remaining monsters. This allows the Goliath's attention turn towards the students and for Mord's party to run towards the cave that connects to the 18th floor. A new horde of monsters are called by the Goliath's roar and are coming from behind Nano's group. Cole throws a magic item made by the School District's Alchemy Department called "Light Flower", which when activated creates a blinding light. The Goliath is blinded by the light while Nano's group run toward the cave to the 18th floor, following Mord's group. However, Cole is caught by a monster that came from behind so fast due to becoming an enhanced species after devouring the magic stones that Nano's group didn't pick up after killing monsters on their way there earlier. Mililia kills the monster clinging to Cole and the group try to move towards the cave to the 18th floor again. However, the blinded Goliath accidentally falls towards the wall where the cave is, resulting in the cave collapsing and being blocked.
Mord's party was able to get through the passage to the 18th floor in time before the cave collapsed, but Nano's group didn't make it. The Goliath stands up and regains its sight, while the hordes of monsters are about to catch up. Nano's group are about to fall into despair in this situation, but Lefiya then arrives in the area with Luke. Lefiya fires Fusilade Fallarica which kills the horde of monsters and stops the Goliath's movement for a short time. Lefiya then kills the remaining monsters in close combat while Luke tends to Nano and the others. The Goliath then calls for more monsters with his roar, and Lefiya realizes that this Goliath is one of the stronger spawns. With the passage to the 18th floor blocked, defeating the Monster Rex is the only way to survive. But it's been over a day since the 7th squad entered the Dungeon so they have reached their limit already.
Lefiya tells the students to gather near the Big Wall of Grief since no monster other than the Goliath could spawn from there. She then uses Wynn Fimbulvetr to create a wall of ice surrounding the students, trapping them inside. Lefiya is not confident that she could protect the students while fighting so she intends to fight all the monsters by herself while the students are safely protected in a strong ice barrier, much to the students' dismay. Lefiya also wants to try fight a floor boss by herself like Ais did with Udaeus. Lefiya uses Fusillade Fallarica to kill the weaker monsters and attacks the Goliath with her short sword. She is not strong enough to defeat the Goliath with physical attacks, so the key to her victory is delivering a finishing blow with her magic. She believes that she will get stronger if she overcomes this.
Lefiya's fight with the Goliath triggers a memory from 3 years ago. Students from 1st, 2nd, and 7th squads wanted to see the 18th floor so they broke school rules and headed there. Lefiya and Alisa were against it but the other members would still be going so the two had to follow them. The students in the party of combined squads had been in the Cave Labyrinth many times before so most were confident they could reach the 18th floor. However, when they arrived at the area with Big Wall of Grief, the Goliath, which was thought to be defeated already by a party of adventurers, was actually still alive. The Goliath and other monsters attacked the students until Lefiya was the only one left conscious. At that time, Lefiya was hopeless against the Goliath, but this time it is different.
The fight begins with Lefiya firing Arcs Ray, and the Goliath loses its entire right arm. She is also fighting a horde of about 40 other monsters that surround her. Though she receives some injuries, she's doing well fighting the monsters like a magic swordsman. However, the illusion of Filvis that Lefiya sees is looking at her with a sad face. Meanwhile, Riveria and Loki are talking about how Lefiya is trying to quit being Lefiya. At the same time, Baldr and Alisa are talking about how the Lefiya they met again after 3 years is a different person. Lefiya is chasing the illusion of someone she lost and she is trying to become that person. If Lefiya's mind and body have caught up with the illusion, she will no longer be the Lefiya everyone knows.
Lefiya continues killing the monsters around her and she believes she's one more step in becoming Filvis. Lefiya remembers the time Filvis' clone allowed herself to be devoured by a monster in order to save Lefiya, so she believes that if she sacrifices one of her arms she will be able to understand Filvis' pain and sorrow. As she is about to make her move, the ice barrier that trapped the students is suddenly destroyed. Nano had fired her magic many times to destroy the ice barrier, but firing the magic at a close range caused Nano and the others to be more injured with burns. They immediately kill some of the monsters around Lefiya after getting out.
Mililia and Cole remind Lefiya of the same teachings she's given them before, which adventurers should help each other and they can't win against the Dungeon alone. Hearing Luke saying he admires Lefiya and doesn't want to be just protected reminds her of her past self. Nano says she is afraid of Lefiya becoming someone else, and wants Lefiya to stop looking at someone who is not here and look at them instead. Baldr and Alisa believe that Lefiya will always be the Lefiya they know and she can't be someone else. Loki and Riveria believe Lefiya won't be able to become Filvis and sending her to the School District would make her realize this.
While the four people who are outside the Dungeon say that Lefiya is none other than Lefiya Viridis, the students who are in the Dungeon tell her to let them protect her. The "mirror" that shows a reflection of a fake Filvis in front of Lefiya is destroyed by the students who are like "mirrors" that reflect the past Lefiya. Being confronted with the truth, Lefiya then makes a decision and uses Veil Breath on the students to give them protection. Lefiya tells the students to protect her, a mage who will save them, and they comply.
Lefiya asks the students to protect her for one minute, previously she would have asked for three minutes in a similar situation, but now is different. The moment she starts chanting, she also connects her wand to her rod, which transforms into a staff that's longer than her height like Riveria's staff. Lefiya's new weapon is "Twin-Stick Fairy Dust", which consists of a wand and a rod. The wand was remade from Filvis' wand, and the rod was made from the remains of Lefiya's previous staff. It has a connection and changeable mechanism that can be called Orario's first. When Lefiya was fighting as a magic swordsman, she was using the wand alone. Now that she is fighting as a rear mage, she can unleash the weapon's true power once she connects the wand to the rod. Because the weapon has the inherited characteristics of the rod and wand's previous forms, it has high compatibility with elf magic. When connected, the magic gems on both sticks resonate and amplify magic power even further.
As Lefiya is chanting, she is reminded of what happened in the past when she and her classmates were almost killed in the dungeon. Ais, who was on her way to a deeper floor with Tione and Tiona, appeared and saved them. After learning the girl she just met was a mage, Ais told her to shoot her magic. Lefiya felt helpless and said she couldn't cast magic by herself, but Ais told her that there are people that need to be saved, referring to Lefiya's classmates that are too many to be protected by just three people. Ais then told Lefiya that people like her protect mages from monsters while the mages save everyone from monsters. Ais then fights off the Goliath while the twins are fighting the other monsters. The sight of such strong people fighting became the origin of Lefiya dreaming to be an adventurer like Ais and the others. Lefiya then fired Fusillade Fallarica, which she had just learned at that time, which killed all of the other monsters at the same time as Ais defeated the Goliath. Tione and Tiona were impressed of Lefiya's magic and recommended Lefiya to join their Familia, and Ais praised Lefiya for her good work while smiling.
After remembering her origin, Lefiya realizes that she is still Lefiya Viridis and can't be like Filvis, and the illusionary Filvis in her mind finally smiles at her. The monsters are about to attack Lefiya, but Mililia restrains them with Silver Vine. The students then fight the Goliath to protect Lefiya from it until her chanting is finished. Lefiya unleashes Rea Laevateinn which can instantly distinguish allies from enemies in a large deployment and annihilates all of the monsters, including the Goliath. Lefiya then goes to Nano, who is lying on her back, and thanks her for protecting her, which causes Nano to hug Lefiya while crying. Luke and the others approach while looking at them with a smile. Mililia then also sheds tears while hugging Lefiya. After Ais and the others saved Lefiya in the past, Lefiya did the same thing Nano and Mililia are doing now. This familiar scene causes Lefiya to smile and cry a little.
After spending a long time clearing routes by removing fallen rocks, Ais and the others finally arrived on the 17th floor. When they arrive at Lefiya's location, they see Leon in a silver armor with a great long sword already there. Immediately after Ais calls him "Knight of Knights", Leon gives away to allow Ais and the others see the scene of Lefiya hugging her students. They also notice that the smile Lefiya is giving off belongs to the Lefiya they know.
Epilogue[]
After the Goliath was defeated, Lefiya, along with those who had come to rescue the 7th squad and her, opened the blocked path to 18th floor. They decide to rest at Rivira before returning to the surface. Upon arriving there, Lefiya sees Bell, who is wearing a School District battle uniform that is tattered. The hume bunny Lefiya met before entering the dungeon was actually Bell in disguise who was accompanying the 3rd squad. Bell was able to safely evacuate the 3rd squad to the 18th floor earlier, though they were chased by the Goliath that Lefiya defeated. Baldr and some others were involved with the reason Bell infiltrated the School District while in disguise.
Bell and the 3rd squad look like they went through an adventure. The half-elf Nina is looking at Bell while blushing, which causes Lefiya to be irritated and accusing Bell as a rabbit in heat that is laying his hands on a student. Bell says he's not doing such a thing and asks not to be called like that in front of Ais and the others. Lefiya also complains about how Bell was screaming at her when they met earlier at the Guild, which Bell apologizes for. The 3rd and 7th squad are dumbfounded at the sight of Lefiya and Bell bickering, since they've never seen Lefiya like this before. Ais and the twins laugh at this while commenting that Lefiya would be fine as long as Bell is around. Leon is also happy to see Lefiya acting like someone her age. They all then return to the surface after about a day of resting.
Lefiya's time as an instructor ends right after the Dungeon Practice is over. When the 7th squad part with Lefiya, they declare they they will join Loki Familia in the future. Nano was crying, Mililia and Cole also had some tears in their eyes, while Luke with his usual unfriendly expression also declares he will become a greater adventurer than Lefiya. Sometime later at the Loki Familia home, Lefiya is in the courtyard waiting for Bete to continue their training. When he appears, Bete notices Lefiya is back to her usual self. She asks if Bete became stronger after losing someone, but Bete replies it doesn't matter who dies as he would remain as who he is. Bete also says he pities Fivis since after her death she is being used as an excuse for Lefiya becoming half-hearted and wandering aimlessly while using Filvis' weapon without permission. Lefiya then cries while saying that Bete is saying such mean things and that Lefiya was actually worried about using Filvis' weapon without permission. Bete then tries to cheer Lefiya up by saying Filvis wouldn't want to see her looking lame like this. Tione and Tione then appear and hit Bete for making Lefiya cry. Ais is also there consoling Lefiya while saying with cold eyes that Bete is the worst, which is the biggest blow for him.
Lefiya then runs away from the Loki Familia home and throughout the city while still crying. She arrives at a high ground, which is the place she and Filvis went to before where they made a promise to go to Lefiya's hometown. Lefiya screams towards the sky, calling Filvis a liar for not being able to fulfill their promise. She also shouts about how Filvis wouldn't let her help when troubled and that she chose Dionysus over their friendship. Lefiya ends her shouting by saying she loves Filvis and won't forget her. Lefiya resolves to move on and become stronger while staying as herself. She wonders if it's okay to keep Filvis' weapons and if they will always be together. When Lefiya closes her eyes during that moment she feels someone is nodding their head and their warmth can be felt, which causes Lefiya to hold her short sword to her chest and smile.
