Summary[]
When he was rescued by Ais in the dungeon Bell fell in love with her. Despite being on completely different levels and belonging to different Familias, he had the illusion of being able to be with her. However, the night he heard Bete's words he realized how naive he had been, hating himself for how weak he was. From that day on he went to the dungeon every day, trained and studied as much as he could thinking that he was getting close to her. The day they were attacked he realized the real difference between them and when he found out that she had risen to Level 6 he felt that the distance between them grew instead of shrinking. As he faced the Minotaur he couldn't help but wonder if all his efforts had been for nothing.
Having reached the 9th Floor, Ais met an injured Pallum who asked her to help Bell and told her where he was. However, at that moment Ottar appeared and challenged her, blocking her path. Ais asked him why he did it and he told her that meeting an adventurer from a rival Familia was reason enough. Ais proceeded to attack him but all of her attacks were easily blocked. The fight continued with him now on the offensive. Noting that she wouldn't be able to react in time Ais decided to use Ariel but even using it she was unable to match him. At that moment she realized that sounds of battle were no longer coming from where Bell was, increasing her despair. Frustrated, she used her finishing move, Lil Rafaga, against him. However, once again her attack was blocked, leaving only a few small cuts on Ottar.
She lunged at him again just as Tiona and Tione came to help her. Ais took advantage of this and tried to pass to go to with Bell, however, Ottar noticed this and directed an attack at her, which was blocked by Bete who had also come to help. Finn and Riveria showed up and Finn asked if Freya wanted to start a war with them. Ottar said that he had acted of his own volition and withdrew, saying that he knew he couldn't beat them all.
Ais came to where Bell was, told him that he had given her best and now she would rescue him. Refusing to let her save him again, he stood up asking himself if he didn't do it now then when. Ais noticed this, she knew that the only way for someone to stand up against an enemy he couldn't defeat was if he had the same black flame as her. Fearing that he would lose his purity and become like her as she asked him in her mind not to, yet when she saw him she could see that his gaze was still pure. She tried to stop him but seeing the figure of her father overlapping his she stopped.
Ais didn't understand whar prompted him to do that, nor why the moment they met still shone in her heart, however, she was sure of two things. That his feelings were what allowed him to remain pure inside and that she had just witnessed the birth of an adventurer.
