Summary[]
Bete decided to help Bell and asked Ais why she didn't move until he saw how the boy was fighting on par with the Minotaur. At the same time, Tiona and Tione watched the fight in surprise and Finn pointed out that according to Bete, he was just a rookie a month ago.
Everyone looked at the battle in awe, unable to intervene. Finn knew that his moves were unthinkable for a Level 1 but that it was his courage that allowed him to keep up with his opponent, surprised that he would marvel at someone else's courage. On the other hand, Bete was surprised to see that he was amazed at a battle of this level. As the others watched, Tiona mentioned the Argonaut tale and remembered she liked that story. Ais heard her mother's voice asking if she liked this story. She didn't know, yet she was unable to look away from it.
Bell used Firebolt which shocked the Amazonesses to see that he had used it without a chant. Still, Finn and Riveria pointed out that it wasn't enough as the Minotaur's skin was resistant to fire as well as being difficult to cut, with Bete pointing out that his knife and magic weren't enough to deal a decisive blow. At that moment Bell's baselard was broken by an attack from the Minotaur but he threw it at its face and plunged his knife into its wrist, forcing the monster to drop its sword. Bell took it and lunged at his opponent. Tiona pointed out how terrible at wielding it but, even so, Bell was able to land several hits and delivered on the side its side that forced the Minotaur back.
Both charged at the other, however, the sword broke when it collided with the Minotaur's horn. This did not deter Bell, who dodged the attack and stabbed it with his knife. He then shoot Firebolt through the wound repeatedly until he finally defeated it, killing it from the inside. They all stood still, impressed that he had been able to kill the Minotaur all on his own.
