Summary[]
In a spring, Ais was bathing while Lefiya watched her and wished that moment never ended. Tsubaki told her that if she continued like thar she was going to drown and Lefiya told her that she shouldn't misunderstand her and that she wasn't trying to etch the image of Ais in her mind. After that Tsubaki told her that she was just like Loki, causing Lefiya to spit blood and pass out.
One week after defeating the Demi Spirit, the Loki Familia found themselves on the 18th Floor. After the battle on the 59th Floor, they had encountered some Poison Vermis on their way to the surface. Despite being exhausted they were able to deal with them, still those who had the development ability Abnormal Resistance below G were affected by their poison so they set up camp on the 18th Floor to treat them. Riveria and the other mages and healers with anti poison magic did what they could but they couldn't get rid of the poison. The only one who was able to do so was Airmid Teasanare with her high-level healing magic, but since they couldn't pay for her, all they could do was wait for Bete to come back with the medicine.
Considering the expense of the Durandal weapons, magic swords, and medicine they were going to buy, Gareth said that they would be in the red for a while to which Finn pointed out that they would need to prioritize gathering money before the next expedition. Finn said that he had wanted to tell Loki about what they had seen on the 59th Floor but now he would have to wait. Gareth asked him if he was referring to the Demi Spirit which he confirmed. He said that during their fight the wall that had arisen had come from below and what they had fought against was only the vanguard. In the Room of Prayer, Fels and Ouranos were discussing the same topic. Ouranos said that the Corrupted Spirit's true body must be below the 60th Floor and Fels concluded that the Creatures were also a product of it. Fels asked Ouranos if its recent activity could be due to Ais to which he replied saying that it was very likely. He knew that they had to finish off the Corrupted Spirit, however, he pointed out that at the moment the problem was not there. On the 18th Floor, Finn stated that the Jewel Fetus first took on a body in the Pantry, and then became a Demi Spirit by eating the magic stones of the new species. He pointed out that if several of those had already been brought to the surface, they could be released simultaneously and used to destroy Orario. For now, Finn said that they should rest and wait for Bete to give Loki the letter that he had written.
On the surface, Loki met Dionysus and was surprised to see Hermes also there. He told her that all three were victims of the same incident and that they should share as much information as they could, prompting the other two to tell him not to get too far ahead of himself. After hearing about everything, Hermes pointed out that even if the remnants of Evilus were in the city, the group of Creatures must be in the dungeon. Realizing how dire the situation was, he wondered if he shouldn't have gotten involved, causing Loki to tell him that he couldn't say something like that now. Dionysus pointed out that their enemy being named Enyo could be a declaration of war against the Gods in Orario and Loki pointed out that it could also be against the Guild but for now, all they could do was wait for Finn and the others to return with information. They also pointed out that the cages with the Violas on the 24th Floor could not have been transported through Babel since, even if the Guild was guilty, it would be impossible to transport them without anyone noticing, concluding that there was a second entrance to the dungeon besides the one under Babel.
Back on the 18th Floor, the men were depressed over not being able to spy on the girls and one mentioned that it would have been impossible without the blessing of the God who spied on the Divine Bathhouse to which Raul told them to keep quiet, otherwise they'd get into troubles. Meanwhile, the girls decided to go pick up food in pairs. Ais and Lefiya went together and Ais found a Crystal Drop to which Lefiya pointed out that it was very rare and that she was very lucky to have found it. Ais handed it to Lefiya and told her that it was her way of thanking her for helping her on the 59th Floor. At first Lefiya was reluctant to accept it but she finally accepted it after Ais said a few words to her. She then asked if Bell Cranel, the person Finn had mentioned on the 59th Floor, was the human she had trained to which Ais replied that he was. She asked him what he had done to motivate them and Ais told her that he had gone on an adventure and had been just as amazing as her. As they left that place, Ais thought about how that adventure had changed him and that he would most likely continue to do so, wondering what he was doing.
At night, Ais was practicing with her sword when she heard the Goliath's roar and went to help the one who was being attacked. When she arrived, she saw three people lying on the ground, one of them grabbed her ankle and asked her to help his friends before passing out. At that moment, Ais realized it was Bell.
