Summary[]
A day after Bete returned to the surface, the Loki Familia still had not collected enough antidotes to treat their members afflicted by Poison Vermis poison on the 18th Floor. Frustrated, Loki and Bete discussed their current predicament.
If they were to ask familias with a stock of antidotes, they would either overcharge them or refrain from giving them to annoy them. On the other hand, the merchants likely had already realized they were buying every antidote they could get, so their cost would increase. Although they didn't mind paying, if things got to that point it would become more difficult to get them.
Loki wished that they had a representative who had connections with many familias and merchants who could peacefully negotiate with them. Her comment gave Bete an idea, who told her to gather the rest of the familia. After bidding farewell to his Goddess, the Werewolf stormed into the Hermes Familia home and once he had explained his situation to Lulune demanded that she helped them, reminding her that he had saved them on the 24th Floor.
The Chienthrope argued that she couldn't just do that with Hermes and Asfi away, so Bete threatened to reveal to the Guild that they had been lying about their levels. In the end, the Hermes Familia was forced to help them obtain antidotes and even spend a significant amount of their own money, earning a severe scolding from their captain.
