Information |
Vito (ヴィト―) is a character in DanMachi ~Memoria Freese~. Seven years ago he was an executive of Evilus and the only member of the Erebus Familia before his God was sent back to Heaven, appearing in the Astraea Record event.
In the Memoria Freese continuity, he continued to be an active member of Evilus until the current era. In the Fall Dancing Miracles and Holidays event he attempted to wipe out the world by releasing a Demi Spirit captured in a frozen area of the dungeon using Noel, a Spirit.
At some point he became a member of the Thanatos Familia and remained with the faction until shortly before its annihilation, later joining another unknown familia. In the Orgia's Saga event he reappeared fighting on Enyo's side in his desire to destroy the world.
In the Memoria Freese event, after Orario's victory and his unexpected reunion with Noel, Vito changed thanks to the girl's influence and abandoned his desire for destruction. He is currently traveling around the world with Noel on a journey of redemption.
Appearance[]
Vito has short dark red hair and eyes of the same color which he usually keeps closed. He wears a black top with a gold trim and an overcoat with the same color and design. He also has two brown belts with a gold buckle around his waist.
Personality[]
On the surface, Vito appears to be a kind and casual person, not getting angry when water was spilled on his clothes. However, his true personality is sadistic, relishing in murdering helpless and innocent adventurers, even beating one to death. He hates children, threatening to beat Noel, though he considers innocence to be precious while at the same time foolish and noisy. He tries to mask his true intentions similar to Syr, but the latter was able to see through and expose him.
He acknowledges that he is a "broken man" and Bell describes him to be uncanny and more disgusting than anyone he's met so far. He hates the Gods and the imperfect lower world that they created. He claims to respect heroes, considering them to be better than the Gods, but Ryuu later points out that he actually doesn't, as if he actually did he wouldn't have looked down on Bell.
It is revealed in Astraea Record that the reason behind his hate is because he was born with defects. He is colorblind, seeing everything as grey, and the only thing he can see clearly is red. His 5 senses also have problems, with his sense of touch the only thing working normally. Being able to see red caused him to start assaulting people because he wasn't able to be satisfied with his own blood.
Abilities[]
As a Level 4, Vito is shown to be able to effortlessly kill Level 2 adventurers on his own, in addition to overpowering Bell, who was Level 2, when they first fought.
Intelligence: Vito took advantage of his surroundings to block Bell and the others' view, making them vulnerable to attacks, and manipulated Ryuu into losing her cool to deal with her easily.

Trivia[]
- The author said that he would like to write a story about Vito in the current time, adding that he is still unable to separate from Erebus in various ways.
- This idea was carried out in Memoria Freese's non-canon event Orgia's Saga, an adaptation of Sword Oratoria volume 12.
